The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

@YoungWolf - think that’s what we’ll go for, but I’ve seen a few suggest Toti will keep his spot, so it might be a back three of Agbadou - Krejci - Toti.

Personally I’d be wanting Yerson in there ASAP.

No, I'm not on social media. Other people are though and they've shared it to have a laugh at your behavior.

Nuno made a similar change in the first Premier League season i think didn't he? It shouldn't be a big ask for professionals to be able to sort this out
A fair point. The 352 was a good solution at the time but was also about giving our midfield mobility and pairing Jota/Raul which proved to be lethal.

Going to a 352 now just kinda moves around the issues we have now imo

I feel that the last 2 League games have definitely been a case of the quality letting him down. How can you build any coherent way of creating chances when 2 of your front 3 can't control a football? Vítor will know that more than anyone.

We've seen Vítor's teams play some lovely football at times, even with someone like Munetsi in the team. He can build a good team with a player like Munetsi, Hwang, Bellegarde or Tchatchoua being a valuable part of it. I don't think anybody would be able to build one with all 4 and hopefully going forward we won't have to see that too often. I also think once Krejci is settled in and Mosquera is 100% fit that the back 3 will settle down and stop being such a clusterfuck. As I said in the verdict thread, I think our team will look completely different in 3 or 4 weeks.

More than anything though I just think it's a ridiculous time to be throwing any kind of shade at the manager of this football club. People need to take a step back and take in the whole picture, there are clear reasons why we'll be in the bottom 5 or 6 teams this season and very few of them have to do with the current head coach.

If you've heard anything about him losing the dressing room that's a completely different conversation and one which probably needs to be focused more on player power and the ridiculous environment created by blundering idiots above Vítor's position than it being a reflection of his character.
I think it's definitely a case of quality in the team letting us down at times but i do think we've not been set up to minimise the damage that can be caused by this. We're so open at times and the organisation of the back 3/5 without the ball is very poor at the moment. Nowhere near what it was in the second half of last season. I'm far from sold on the formation anyway and i do think it takes a particular squad to play it well and i'm not sure we have it right now with less ball carriers from deep.

We've seen that he can get teams to win with poor players in the team such as our winning run last year but since then we've struggled again and it's important to stop that spell of not winning in the league as soon as possible. We played some decent football in the City game this season but the biggest worry for me is off the ball we look a step below. Agree that the team should look different in in 2/3 weeks times but there are just little things that i think people are rightly worried about such as:-

- Toti Gomes being captain - Now i've heard he's pretty vocal in the dressing room and probably the most likely in that sense to take the armband but i think he's a player we would be looking to replace and may have in Krejci already. It will be odd if the captain isn't playing.

- Usage of Munetsi is really odd, i get he's got certain attributes that could be seen as beneficial but for the majority of games we're building up play with a man less and even more so when Hwang is with him.

- He's clearly fallen out with Andre, now they might both be at fault but i've seen nothing that looks like that's being healed if anything it's getting worse. Hopefully there is something going on behind the scenes as we're short in that area of the pitch anyway and we can't afford for one of our best players to be under performing due to his relationship with the manager.

I don't think he's completely lost the plot but so far in the 3 league games i don't think he's given us the best chance to pick up points from what i have seen even allowing for the state of the squad. I would imagine there is a lot of work going on over the next 2 weeks to get us ready for Newcastle and hopefully as you say we look a bit different then and we can stop giving away ridiculous goals.

The balance of homegrown players continues to be a real issue for our squad building and it is all self inflicted

Compared to Palace, Brentford, Bournemouth, Forest and Everton we have no core XI homegrown players. Without getting all Reform about it, that is a honking situation.

Hoever and Bueno are not far off being indispensable in terms of our squad building, despite being players I'd happily never see again, because they're HG options.

We're somehow in a situation where we have two natural central midfielders and one natural attacking midfielder that need to be registered, yet we cannot add anything further unless they're HG, U21 or we move on an existing squad member.

If we somehow stay up, Fer Lopez will need to be registered next season, which means we'll need to lose a current member of the squad just to maintain our existing numbers.

If we don't stay up it won't exactly speak well of Fer nor any of our other additions this summer.

I actually think it won't matter too much how we do. There is enough science now to remove team performance from individual performance, at least at competent clubs anyway. The question more in my mind is how many leave when we get relegated

Not sure there are any who would stay that I would actually want to keep. Any one decent like Andre, Joao etc will leave.

Reality of the world. You act like a pathetic child people will treat you like one.

Did that one get shared in your group? Or do you just pick out the ones that suit?

I appreciate it’s groundbreaking stuff that a Wolves fan might post stuff about us signing players rather than esports updates. Proper hilarious stuff, that.

You think you’re the smartest man in the room, but you’ve really let yourself down recently with some of the personal stuff. You’ve already said you have no interest in being better or taking other people’s opinions into account, though, so as long as people can finally see what you’re like, that’s up to you.

That's a cracking pic and what football is all about

I'm going to be honest, I did not have a Lycan meltdown on my deadline day bingo card.
