The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I don't mind that so much, our previous data analysts were a bunch of nepo babies IIRC

I've said it before but it's pathetic that they're still tied to Mendes after a near 10 years running the club.

Great to get the ball moving in the first instance... but just a fuckin drain on resources since and denuded of quality year on year...

This bit is absolutely insane in 2025

I'd be stunned if this wasn't Keen either guessing, misspeaking or grossly misunderstanding how things are done both at Wolves and elsewhere.

I've got no issue with how we identify players. It's the actual negotiation which seems to be the problem.

Shows how naive, stupid and arrogant we are to think we can do what Brentford and Brighton do but without the tools that are essential to making it work. It's clear that we want to move towards a self-sustaining model, but it's infuriating that there are actual, real-life examples of this being achievable by clubs of a lesser stature in the league we're in and we simply refuse to explore this as an option.

All the stuff about RAN & Semedo just had me sat here shaking my head. So if there’s any truth in all this, they openly admit they let RAN go too quickly and didn’t get enough. Then the whole Semedo situation just sounds ridiculous.

I’m also slightly concerned by some of the stuff coming out about Vitor. Accepting players that he’s never met, not realising we had a player on loan who he can now use, bleating on in every presser for a month about needing a midfielder, then actively declining one - all after giving the nod to let others go. Stating he’ll play Krejci there. We all laughed when it came out that he could play multiple positions and said “bet that one signing counts as two/three”. Now they’re literally saying that. Vítor needs to get his head down and get a tune out of this squad now, given how much influence he’s got. Quite right the new deal/contract has been shelved. We’re bottom of the table with 0 points - go win some games.

Also crazy that it’s being suggested JSL could have played v Everton but we chose not to because of all the Newcastle noise. What’s the worst that could have happened if he played an hour? Instead we go with Hwang & Munetsi in the front line.

The way the club is being ran is completely and utterly baffling. This isn’t new news, though.

What is the update on Enso Gonzalez does anyone know ?

Still injured ?

Is he the short wunderkid we got from Uruguay who got injured pretty damn fast?
I was just about to ask about him!! (Beat me to it 1986!)
Are there any other 'kids'/men we bought back a while who we thought at the time should (by now) be coming good?

The fact JSL didn’t play but could have makes me wonder if they hoped Newcastle would come back with an offer they couldn’t refuse. Apparently the Palace manager Glasner told the owners that if they sold Guehi without a replacement he would walk so be nice to see them do well in Europe this year.

I wonder how motivated these players are going to be with all the noise coming out of the club lately.

Be nice to think they’ll play out of their skins to secure a move to club that matches their ambition. History suggests that whilst some might more will sulk. I’m pretty sure most know they’ll get a move of some sort if we’re relegated so it won’t bother them as much as us.

I would imagine that Andre and Gomes will make a real effort at some stage having been dropped by Ancelotti from the Brazil squad for the upcoming WC 26 qualifiers.
