The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I’ve always thought KWP looked decent but by all accounts he was a bit rubbish this season. I’d take him on a free though.

Yeah I think KWP would be good.

Lamptey looked superb when he broke through, but then he just broke. He's 24 and I don't think he's managed 100 games yet.

I think he’s perfect for Man City. Great with the ball at his feet, good intelligence and movement.

His give and go’s with Cunha and then cutbacks have been massive parts of our attacking play. Just sadly we’ve been cutting back to players who can’t shoot or not been having numbers in the box to take advantage. This won’t be the case at City.

He’s also not a player who particularly relies on pace. He’s not slow but he doesn’t use it as attribute where a low block would hinder him. He would actually be better against low blocks with quick interchanges around the area and tight control. Pep would drill the overplaying out of him too.

Add that he can drift into central area and be comfortable on the ball like Pep asks his defenders to do.

They’re going alright at the minute with a young number 10 at LB. I think RAN is perfect for them.

Obviously RANs attacking output is there for all to see but I think his defensive work is pretty good on the whole.
Yes he sometimes puts us under pressure with trying to be clever but that's also the reason his attacking stats are so good.
That's not to say he doesn't frustrate me sometimes but I'll be sorry to see him go. If he goes at the same time as Cunha, that's a massive hole to fill in our attacking play, especially as they complement each other so much.

I think you might get a bit of a Grealish outcome with him at City. He's got plenty of attributes to do well there but going to need a significant mentality change to fit into that team and Pep will want to subdue some of his individualism. It could work out very well for him though, he shows some fabulous interplay at times so perhaps with better players around him and a more detailed coaching setup you'll see that come to the fore more than some of the overplaying and dwelling on the ball he can be guilty of.

I don't care whether he's right for them or not, so long as they cough up huge wads of ca$h.

The only player whose post-Wolves career I've given 2 shits about is Neves. And he went to Saudi so I haven't bothered even once looking at his form because...who cares about Saudi teams?

I don’t think RAN is good enough for Man City.

Great for us perhaps but questions of him defensively and horrendously one footed.

His weaknesses would be highlighted far more there than they are here - simply because he’d be with the world’s elite.
I think the opposite. He’d be quality at City. A skilful, confident player on the ball, playing for a team who pass the opposition to death and rarely have to defend? He’s literally perfect for them.

We just need to make sure we get £40m+ for him. I’m pretty sure I read we’d bought out the sell on clause that Angers had, but I don’t know if that was ever confirmed?

I thought we have the option to buy it out at any time, which I assume we'd do once we have a deal in place to sell him
