The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Yep and again for next season, so clubs been told not to include TV money in any budgets for next season.
Potential for Jeff to renegotiate any sell on fees for lower then if RAN signs a new contract ?

Call me cynical but buying out the sell on clause only means one thing to me

Was listening to Judah and Keen. They believe we value Bueno at £16-£20m and RAN at £40m, so essentially across the 2 keeping RAN would be a cost of £10-£15m once we pay Angers off. Based on those figures, which could all be bollocks it seems like a no brainer to me as long as he's happy to stay, although I'd be amazed if that money is out there for Bueno.

Did you miss the bit where we offered him a new contract as well?
Not stopped anyone thinking Cunha’s already out the door.

I could easily believe the extension is just “value protection” or whatever.

All new contracts are “value protection”.

Cunha is out the door because he has told the whole world he wants to leave and go somewhere better.

Not a case of “anyone thinking” - he’s repeatedly told us.

This will be a big indicator of what sort of attitude Fosun are going to have to us next season. I'm cautiously optimistic.
I can't see any change in Fosun's attitude over the next few years. Further investments in Wolves are likely to small and infrequent. Fosun has been selling off companies in the last couple of years. They have raised over $5 billion and used it to pay off some of their debts. They are holding some $13 billion of customer deposits (I guess deposits for yet to be built properties).

Investing in Wolves won't be at the top of their list.

The best we can hope for, until Fosun itself recovers financially, is some short term loans from sone of their European subsidiaries.

I'm afraid that it's all going to be down to Shi.

Tbf when you're $35bn in debt, chucking £50m at a pet project if it's randomly back in favour isn't making a difference

Thing is. I personally don’t think we will need loads of additions to have a decent season next year.

If you look at the team, I’m ok with Sa, could upgrade ofcourse but he’s not terrible.

Defensively we’re ok. Of semedo stays still, hopefully Djiga with a full pre season slots in. Hugo bueno back also.

Midfield may be some turnover with Doyle going etc but our starting 2 are pretty much set.

Forward line obviously Cunha is going. That raises money but part of that will go on JSL. Hwang Sarabia Guedes potentially going. So that’s where the turnover will be.

But ultimately if we only sell Cunha, we shouldn’t be in a relegation battle, and no reason we can’t push for upper mid table - potential lower Europe qual with a good run.

Guess it’s how you want the club to progress, but we’re not going to be splashing loads of money to try and break top 6

Selling our highest scorer and highest assister without replacing him and being safe is a massive ask.
I’m more confident than last summer that we have a team management structure better placed to inform this process. However, that’s barely a bar let alone a low one, and experience should teach me not to be so optimistic. I do agree that our prospects are more fragile than plenty of people feel right now.

I think we showed enough in the games without him to be safe personally - albeit not push on maybe

Especially when you look at our other attacking options. Apart from Strand Larsen & Munetsi they will all either not be here next season or have massive question marks over them. Depending on who else departs we might be in a situation where we basically have to rebuild our entire attacking unit in one summer.

How next season goes will be heavily dependant on whether the forward players we bring in are up to the job. For every Strand Larsen and Cunha there’s been a Cutrone and Guedes. Get it right and we’ll be comfortable mid-table, get it wrong and we’ll be nearer the bottom.
