The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Let’s be honest, it’s not even a competition. United or wolves.

He has no affiliation with wolves. Literally just employed by them. Not as if he’s a life long wolves fan, born in the area etc.

Even if that’s the case, playing for United, irrelevant of there current guise would appeal to most accept maybe a select few

Even despite being shit they won a cup last year and the year before. They will always go far in the cup competitions. Plus he gets a massive pay rise.

Depends on how you view titles I suppose, for me that's the league not cups. I've been of the view for a few days now that he's going there because there isn't anywhere else

I don't think anyone is arguing that in a binary choice Utd is a better option than Wolves on every level, but then we weren't the ones who said they wanted to go to a club chasing titles, he was.

Exactly this.

I’m not blaming him leaving. All good players leave to go to better clubs - even Liverpool lose their best players to better clubs so it’s pretty simple to understand.

I just have absolutely no fucking idea why he’s going to United. They’re fucked.

And if it’s about money, I think their days of paying stupid money is over. I’m fairly sure he’d get similar elsewhere at a club that’s a better option for him in terms of success.

That is, unless no one else wants him.

Which is possible, I guess.

It has been said ‘I have no idea why he’s going to United’ if you can’t think of why that is daft.

Chasing titles, if you’re isolating it to the premier league, then fair enough. But cups, general silverware.

It’s one of those, most footballer don’t come out and say ‘yeah they’re a bigger club, more exposure, more money etc etc’ it’s just how it is.

We all knew it would happen, though. The release clause had already been set, too.

At that point, what difference does it make? Besides he said “I want to take the next step”, not “I want to be somewhere else”. That it registered with people at all is so odd to me.

He hasn’t sandbagged on the pitch and he hasn’t disrespected the club off it.

The clause had been set because he bullied the club into doing it in January, a contract that was given after he showed them what a none trying version of him looked like at Chelsea and understandably they panicked. There was absolutely no reason for the club to do so otherwise, it cost them money in the short and medium term

Ok, so I’m saying “I haveno idea why he’s going to United” so I must be daft.

It’s not for titles or silverware because he’s winning nothing with them currently. They’re shit. They’re skint. And they’re not in Europe.

It’s not for money really, either. I would argue any other club that comes in for him would pay him similar. United have been burned by big wages and still are - Casemiro and Rashford, prime examples.

I would literally go anywhere rather than there if I were him - which makes me wonder if he’s not as in demand as maybe he thinks he is.

Good god, I’ll be glad when we make a signing then everyone might shut the fuck up about Cuhna.

What other clubs are coming in for him, and paying him, say 175k a week at least?

No, they’re not in Europe next year, but given a 5 year contract I’d bet they will be in that time.

They could feasibly win a cup in the next couple of years, greater chance than us, anyway.

I just don’t think there’s a huge market for him
In the prem, especially the 3 teams who you’d imagine will contest the league over the coming years, as in Liverpool, Arsenal, city.

Granted no idea on teams abroad.

In spain 3 team down to second división:
Valladolid and Leganes: For me no have good players.
Las Palmas: Mika Marmol 23 years old, max 10M (Left center back) its ex-Barcelona player. He not bad defender, but good comfortable on the ball and helps start attack. I think its good to play in Toti position.

Just checking their squad and spotted they have Januzaj, also can't believe he is only 30. Feels like he should be a lot older.
