The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Nelson turns down Wolves contract and will now leave Wolves on a free according to Percy.

I think it's for the best. Can't be giving a 32 year old a four year deal on 90k. It's lunacy if that's correct as well.
Where have you seen that?

Nélson leaving is definitely not 'for the best'. Top, top player and a good captain who we will miss badly. Really worried about how we replace so many influential players in one window, especially as so much work needed to be done to the squad even before these outgoings.

Vítor wanting a keeper isn't a surprise to me, Sá is incapable of playing the way he wants his sides to. The Brighton game was a clear example of that, as was the way we started having Agbadou take goal kicks. That's far from ideal and something no manager wants to happen. What is a surprise is that it's being made a priority given all the other needs in the squad and the fact that Johnstone will almost certainly force a move through this Summer. I thought Vítor might've been forced to muddle through until January at least with Sá.

Andreas Pereira is an interesting one. Quality player and homegrown which is something we definitely lack but where does he fit? As one of the inside forwards or as an alternative to João Gomes in the middle?

I assume he’d be one of the inside forwards. Not a chance he gets ahead of Joao/Andre in the middle two.

Surely as a forward; he doesn’t have JG’s appetite for defensive work.

Completely agree. 90K a year is ridiculous for what he actually offers and delivers and he isn't getting any better.
