The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Fran Garcia of Madrid, that defensive wing i say are one low cost option to cover RAN because Madrid put he transferible, now are hard to get, are playing with Xavi Alonso, and are making a good games:

I think now, xavi dont sell he.

And this market is so quiet for wolves and celta, and i don't like it, i prefer all player start the preseason, to make a good start on the league.

6 weeks to start the league and dont are covering the important outs

I hope they start moving soon.

I don't think a loan move for Rashford is as outlandish as it might seem.

1) No-one seems interested in signing him at £40m permanently
2) He went to Villa primarily as he doesn't want to leave Manchester, so needs somewhere commutable from there
3) Added to which, he doesn't seem to want to move anywhere abroad bar Paris and Barcelona, and there seems little chance of either
4) We're desperate for reinforcements for the areas behind JSL
5) We're saving an absolutely enormous amount in wages this summer, especially if Semedo doesn't stay
6) While we'll still be facing an uphill battle to finish top half, we *should* be alright in terms of getting stuck in a grim survival battle if we get our transfer business right
7) Will 100% never play under Amorim again

Not saying I think it WILL happen, but his options aren't plentiful given all of the above.

Not against Rashford, the only thing that concerns me is his attitude, would he be 100% committed if he thought he was playing for a team he doesn't consider his level. He was ok for Villa but there were times he looked a bit disillusioned to me.

He looked disillusioned back at United IMO.

Something’s up there. If he doesn’t accept a step down for a bit then he’ll be more Dele Alli than Rooney.

But that's the thing. He still has ideas above his current stature in the game. His attitude would be that he is far bigger than Wolves as he clearly thought he was bigger than Villa. He's done well out of the game but for the next phase of his career he's going to have to dig deep in terms of aptitude and I don't think he will.

I'd rather give an opportunity to someone else than waste money on a bloke who wouldn't want to play for us. See Guedes. We don't need another.

Guedes has got zero ability though, he's an awful footballer who had an awful record before we signed him.

That's your opinion. Guedes does have ability, maybe not Prem level but he does have a decent first touch usually.... and I know you'll come straight back about that chance he missed at the end of last season!

But, frankly, it isn't our mantra thesedays to sign players on the decline. Rashford most certainly fills that bill.

His record is a matter of fact, not opinion :)

Take away goals for Benfica B and he's only ever scored more than 5 league goals in a season for anyone once, and he's nearly 29. Shocking.

OK...you said he has zero ability. Bit of a contradiction... he has scored 5 league goals in a season. ;)
He's even scored a Premiership goal or two. :)

Definitely not old enough to have scored in the Premiership

You don't want players who view us as a step down normally, but Rashford needs to play well this season to make the World Cup squad. I think that's a massive motivation for players. Same with Joao Felix.

We could genuinely end up with João Félix but I'm not sure I'd want him. He's said in an interview yesterday that he wants to go back to Benfica, specifically because he wants to play for Bruno Lage. That lad needs to sort his head out I reckon.

Felix is just a deluxe Trincao for me, obvious ability but physically way off it for the PL and even more crucially, lacks heart and fight.

League goals are your currency, you can draw any old shite in the cups, it's random (see him scoring twice against a 40% strength Burnley team in the League Cup last season, who cares).

His record is diabolical and it was before he turned up here, he always looked awful.

League goals are your currency when you're criticising players like Doherty or Guedes, but did Bull score 250 goals for Wolves or 306?

Do Jota and Raul's euro goals not count either?

I just think it's disingenuous.
