The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Jeff probably thinks “concrete offer” means three bags of cement and a pair of Guedes’ boots.

How did i "derail another" thread?

I spoke specifically about the Semedo contract situation? A perfectly reasonable Wolves related topic of conversation.

You right now, for the umpteenth time are wading in hours after the fact to give your opinion on me in a typically aggressive manner, you haven't made a comment about Semedo, you have purely talked about me, and Jeremy Corbyn, so who is doing the derailing?
For clarity, you

I thought I was happily debating the key point he was making and discussing it with him in a very civilised fashion. EP and myself can scrap with the best of them at times, but not last night and this morning my time. He asked a question and I tried to answer it, we discussed it.

For the love of God, Jesus, Mary, Joseph and all the Saints, FFS Wolves please give us a concrete link today

He isn't.

It's the people who decide to start an argument with EP that takes it off topic with pages of bickering at him.

And that's my own personal opinion btw.
Not wanting to drag this out any longer than it needs to be - and I can see a lot of people have hit the laughing emoji on this post so obviously disagree, but I think you're right. People see the poster rather than the point being made and go on the attack immediately. EP has always, in my experience at least, addressed people properly or with respect on here and always argues his point fairly. That courtesy definitely hasn't been offered in return from a number of posters on here & you can see evidence of that by looking at the last few pages of this thread. On the flip side, some of the conversations can be drawn out longer than need be (and I can see the irony in that statement by me posting more on the subject), but I think EP acknowledges this - this forum has always been one step up on other places due to the healthy debate and insight on offer, IMO. I'd say, argue/debate the point rather than the poster, but if it's getting too much - walk away and get some fresh air. Hopefully that will create less of the kind of circular argument/debate we've seen over the last few pages.

✌️

I genuinely hope your post (and indeed Bear's) isn't aimed at me among others. I responded a lot to EP last night, but I thought in an entirely civil fashion and we had quite an interesting debate about why he thought the lack of a captain was a serious issue from Nelson being an unknown, while I explained my point of view as to how I feel it will end up being solved naturally as the squad has to inevitably evolve over the summer (let's face it, if it doesn't we are somewhat fucked).

If that was a derailment in the eyes of others I will hold my hands up, but I genuinely thought he and I were having a healthy discussion about it. On that point I didn't really care about the poster. I thought the point was an interesting one to debate and so I did.

Not aimed at anyone in particular, my friend - more of a general point. I enjoyed your debate last night 😘

Can’t say I see an issue. It was a Nélson discussion on the thread about transfers. Shock horror.

As Jinks says, those kinds of discussions carrying on (and, indeed, many even less on-topic tangents) are part of what makes this place fun and not just a high falutin’ MM.

If you think you're guilty then maybe you are.... :devilish:

Can I just add (given that I was the person to lose patience yesterday) that I've never had any real interaction with EP and I don't make a habit of getting into spats on here. I was simply expressing frustration at the circular and tedious "arguments" that were filling the transfer thread (which I wasn't party to), meaning pages upon pages of irrelevance building up.

As I accepted yesterday, there is a vacuum due to the lack of transfer activity, but we go through this issue every single transfer window, and my patience was tested by the nature of the posting about Semedo which seemed deliberately circular and obtuse (and pedantic in the extreme), and none of which had anything to do with transfers.
