I will take anyone Brazilian.
Literally anyone.
Literally anyone.
And general consensus is he’s pretty good.
Lots of reputable sources picking this up now.
And general consensus is he’s pretty good.
Too optimistic.Hopefully that means that one of Hwang/Guedes is definitely off and the left sided forward is still to come.
Dunno if my comment is stereotypical (not meant as one), but I feel like Italian players have a hard time adapting to Premier League or playing abroad. Quite many "big" or promising names have come but returned to Italy quickly with poor performances. So I usually think these are generally bullets dodged.Mateo Retegui going to Saudi for €67M btw. We could've signed him under Lopetegui for about €10-15M if Jeff Shi wasn't such a throbber.
Sounds like the exact profile we need actually so hopefully it happens and he’s good!Yeah, a lot of denial & anger from Fluminense fans at the moment. 28 at the start of the season so if he can adapt to Premier League football quickly we'll have him for what should be his peak years as well.
He seems to play as either right inside forward or second striker. Hopefully that means that one of Hwang/Guedes is definitely off and the left sided forward is still to come.
Retegui is already playing abroad though, he is actually Argentinian and when he moved to Italy a couple of years ago I think it was his first visit to the country and he spoke little if no ItalianDunno if my comment is stereotypical (not meant as one), but I feel like Italian players have a hard time adapting to Premier League or playing abroad. Wallace Yan plays off the left doesn't he? So either him or someone else hopefully.Hopefully that means that one of Hwang/Guedes is definitely off and the left sided forward is still to come.
Given the amount we've paid, surely Lopez is expected to get significant game time?
That /Hwang is depressing. .
If only it really was /Hwang
Yeah that's what we need but Im not confident we'll get them. Yan is a another Lopez type signing, do we really want 2 young, relatively inexperienced up and coming players? Great if they both turn out well but quite risky. I guess that's the market we're in though. You need at least 2 players for each position. Let's assume Guedes is off.
New/Bellegarde - JSL/Hwang - Arias/López
All 6 of those will get significant game time. With Mané behind that and Munetsi playing in the front line at times as well.

The concern for me is what happens if/when JSL is injured? We don't have another player who can be a focal point of the front line unless Munetsi is expected to fill in there which is, shall we say, sub-optimal.I suppose that's why we're going for Arias. If we think he can adapt to the PL, and he looks quite robust so no reason to think he won't, he's 28 in September so we'll end up with a nice balance.
Arias 28
Strand Larsen 25
Bellegarde 27
López 21
Hwang 29
Guedes 28
Munetsi 30
Mané 17
I don't think that's too bad at all, even if both Hwang and Guedes leave (). Definitely room for another young player there.
