The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Could be an interesting front 3. I’m sure arias isn’t an upgrade on Cunha ofcourse, but he sounds half decent, and if Lopez is any good (write ups I’ve seen say he’s very highly thought of) then fingers crossed he’ll be an upgrade on bellegarde/munetsi/sarabia etc

Still lots of work to do.

Can’t say I’ve seen a lot of mid table teams signing players? Only getting weaker

Brentford will be interesting next year

My lacklustre early morning effort, to the tune of Blondie "Maria". Not sure I can see the South Bank singing it.

"Ariiiiaaaas, you gotta see him,
Speed and skill that blow your mind
Latino, Jhon Arias
Goals and magic every time"

If Fer Lopez can hit the ground running, then you'd think a front 3 of JSL, Arias, and Lopez is not significantly poorer than JSL, Cunha, and Munetsi/Sarabia.

Not sure about that. Cunha our best player and Munetsi a very good partnership with JSL, helping to unlock the latter's goal potential?

I wouldn't say significantly poorer with scant evidence, but we have no idea how either will adapt to PL football

Lopez has only played 17 pro games, so we could be asking a lot. Will be interesting to see how he gets on in the friendlies.

If Arias has 75% of Cunha's flair and progressive play, but is a better team player, then you could argue he's an upgrade overall.

Impossible to say yet, both Arias and Fer in a new country and a new league. Maybe by the end of the season if all goes well.
Do we think that's it for attacking players now? Personally I'd like another ove......experienced forward.
We still have full back gaps and a CM option needed.

To be fair if Everton had signed Arias and I had no idea who he was I'd probably think the same.

Well ok. I'm going to change my view then: he's not as good as Cunha, he's too old, and we've paid too much for him. Shit signing. 😂😂
