Only 6 HGN players and three of those have left/will leave in Dawson, Doyle and Johnstone.

Having just 3 HGN players leaves us with a max squad size of 20 players. Clearly we could do with another couple.

Cunha, Semedo, Sarabia and Ait-Nouri have all left, and Traore is on his way out. Djiga has left on loan too.

Fer Lopez was under 21 on 1st Jan 2025 so doesn't needs to be registered, and Arias and Pubil are both coming in. Hugo Bueno will be back too as another non-HGN (not sure if he counts as HGN or not tbh)


Currently it looks something like this.

So, a squad of 19 first team players, and five of those aren't going to play or are out of favour (Johnstone, King, Bentley, Hwang, Guedes).

That shows a very small squad and a lot of gaps still. Though we do have spaces for three more non-HGN players assuming Johnstone stays. Only two non-HGN spaces if he leaves.

We still need more than a LWB, CM and forward IMO. No wonder Vitor is complaining already.

I can only think we have an eye on that rule (which Chelsea for one ignore) about how many players you can send out on loan overseas. The one that tripped Spurs up with Doc and they ended up just releasing him.

How does giving Nelson so long to make a decision look now? Waited and waited and waited. Finally decide nearly two weeks after he becomes a free agent that we better get moving with a replacement - that’s all lined up ready to go through and then a better offer for the lad comes along and we’re back to square one.
