The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Suspect Blues will be another club that overtake us within a couple of years. Their owners are actually showing some ambition both on and off the pitch.
Very easy to do when you are playing in Div 1 or the Championship. Ambition is one thing, we had it once, but then sustaining it with a corrupt league set up is impossible. You only have to look at Newcastle's efforts to break through or what happened to Leicester. Birmingham look like they want to give it a go in the coming season. We shall see, but for them to overtake us, they are going to have to spend the best part of a decade in the Prem. It can be done though, we went past West Brom and several other ex-Prem teams. It's football. It has cycles. No use bleating about it unless, of course, you need something else to moan about on a daily / hourly basis.

Yes you're right, we should just watch Wolves circle the drain and grin whilst it happens.

There’s nothing eerily controlled by celestial powers about our in house decision making. It’s not the orbit of Jupiter. You can exercise control man!

The thing is I don't think anyone is expecting the earth. Just if you lose your two wing backs who play literally every game, you have to replace them. And we can't just have two viable central midfielders in the entire squad, especially when one is a bit of a card machine.

None of that is cyclical, it's either very complacent or very stupid.

And just like that, little Jeff conjures up some magic to settle the natives down. Fucking marvelous. Circling the drain indeed.
