The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I know we all hate Shi/Fosun and I'm all aboard that train but in this instance I wonder if we're targeting better quality and in fact prepared to pay the going rate, it's just there's so many clubs in European competitions they're spoilt for choice with clubs.
Of course I'm probably being naive as per.

Whether there is or there isn't , getting Guedes , Silva and Sarabia off the payroll is good for everyone - all three were vastly overpaid compared to what they were contributing .

Of course. I'm just second-guessing Jeff's excuse for bringing no more first-team-ready signings.

He is but he's getting his £25M contract paid out in full so I'd imagine that wages wouldn't be too much of a worry for him going forward...
Footballers don't think that way though do they.

Semedo has gone chasing coin in a shite league after being paid enormous sums for the last eight seasons in Spain and England, with a good offer to stay here and I daresay he could have found a different Premier League club if he wanted to. He doesn't need the money, he's taken it anyway.

People in general don’t think that way. Put money on the table and folks will take it.

It’s a shame but that’s the world we live in.

Still think we should sign Vardy. He's different to JSL, local, wouldn't be expensive on a short deal. Sure people will say he's finished but 9 goals last season in that side is perfectly acceptable - after Cunha and JSL out next top scorer was our left-back with 4, and he scored more than Beto, Muniz, Son, the same as Havertz and only one less than Joao Pedro and Evanilson - and would fill a much needed gap.

I think it happens way more in "real" life - where people could sometimes actually do with the extra money but turn it down for various reasons - than in football, where if you were sensible, started at a top flight club in your late teens and had a solid career, you'd be made by your mid 20s for life without any need to work again. And yet they chase money, compromise their career, refuse to take a pay cut ever, etc etc.

Like you could offer me double what I'm on now to go and work in London and do the exact same job. I wouldn't go and do it, I might have moved there 20 years ago, not now. I neither need nor particularly want the extra money to mess up the balance I've got now.

I definitely wouldn't go and live in Saudi fucking Arabia for any money.

Saw him on insta training with Rui Patricio. Seemed odd?

Vardy is going to LA I read. His kids were kitted up the other week. Mitrovic would be miles ahead in terms of quality
