The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Got to be at the very least an obligation to buy you'd think. Anybody that's watched him play football for a year isn't going to take the option.

On JSL - I'd take the £65m today tbh, he's barely worth half that. I know he scored goals last season, but well, see above. I'm fairly convinced that last season will be the pinnacle of his career numbers wise. Going from Isak to him is a massive downgrade and a big change stylistically

I like Jørgen but he's definitely replaceable for a normal club and I'm not convinced he's exactly what Vítor wants from his #9.

It's the kind of outgoing transfer that wouldn't be an issue in a normal window but there's been way too much churn already and the Summer is already over. Ornstein's tweet mentioned that he wouldn't push for a move so I don't think we should be selling him. Hope he gets a similar or greater goals return this season and then sell him next summer, there will always be a market for players who score goals at this level.

JSL cost the club ~£26M, so taking £65M+ seems like a no brainer but who has confidence they'd find someone before deadline for similar to his original value? They flubbed it when Kilman was sold.

Saşa didn't deserve the abuse he got on the weekend but he's not EPL standard or an easy fit into JSL's role...if he's fit at all.

What abuse?

Fans from other clubs have an inflated opinion of Hwang, probably because he was cheap and knocked in a few goals for their FPL team a year or so ago.

I don't want us to sell JSL and I don't trust us to get a silly figure for him from Newcastle. And even if we did get an outrageous bid of, say £60m (we won't), I then don't trust us to replace him. I would want us to sign his replacement before he goes if that's the case, rather than be left without no-one.

He even put his number 18 shirt with his name covered up in front of The Southbank. These Chinese Whispers can get to fuck.
I was hoping there was nothing in them (but weird how people would make something like that up), because Sasa is a good guy.

You trust them to spend that!?

I wouldn't trust them to wipe their own arses tbf, but it's the right thing to do at that sort of money. I know there's not long left in the window but we should have a shortlist for every position and be able to move pretty quickly, it's been on the cards for a month

Losing Strand Larsen now would make sure we are relegated. So little time to find a replacement, hell are we not looking for somebody to compete with JSL because we can't trust Sasa to last long. Absolute didisaster.
Exactly. Whilst he is not worth £65m, premier league survival is worth more than his value.
