The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Was it €30m quoted? Quite a chunk for us to spend on a CB. That drops Toti to the bench then presumably and captaincy rotates to another member of leadership team?

We definitely needed another left footed player, we couldn't have Toti as the only player who could play that position. This also puts pressure on Agba because Krejci & Toti can then challenge for that central role as well. Agba was always going to start over Santi even if he's not performing, now he'll actually have to fight for his place. It makes the back 3 a real position of strength rather than one where it looked good when everyone's preferred back 3 were available but a bit ropey when you scratch beneath the surface.

It would seem a very strange decision, considering our Shi-limited spending power, and the fact we've got a few problems bigger than Toti. You'd have to presume it's going to be in place of Doc, I don't think it matters that much that he's left footed, or they'll just move Agga over

Nah, only having one left footed CB was a massive issue. You don't want Agba trying to play on the touchline.

What I presume is most people's preferred back 3 (Mosquera Agba Toti) have never played together either

Craig Dawson started to play pencil and the club terminated his contract

once he started that game i gave up on him as well

Toti is OK but you could see the issues on Saturday when building from the back. He's not even as comfortable as Doc in possession. Always been the same and he won't change now.

I never really saw a PL player in Tori when he was at Grasshoppers, but for us he's as a good a squad player as you could hope for, but you wouldn't want him starting every week

I like Toti too, but ideally you'd want him as back up. Krejci can play DM too so Toti would be fine coming in to allow that to happen. This signing helps us hugely. Let's hope we can get it over the line. Shi's final act before selling us to Tom Cruise.
