The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Assuming JSL stays, I really hope he scores at Sid James' Park in a few weeks and gives it the big un to their fans who will no doubt give him some stick for not joining them.

The whole transfer window and the various rumours etc just reaffirms why my love for the game is evaporating by the season. So much hypocrisy, so much hand wringing, so much hyperbole and so much set up for the 'elite' sides to profit from it.

It's absolutely done my head in.

This is a good debate.
I have to say I kind of agree with the whole argument that if he moved up north, he would be playing European football, he would be playing in front of a bigger louder crowd, (And he does seem to recognise that) and of course he would probably be playing for more money per week. I get all that.
Then you have the counter side where he seems to be a nice bloke and to a point is being professional in that he's not agitating and being a twat about it.... but, the needle swings slightly against him in that all these elements we're discussing were exactly there a few weeks ago when he signed with enthusiastic happiness, his new happily negotiated contract.
So to say he's not agitating for a move but has within weeks of signing (And also being offered a new contract by us already) gone public in stating he would like the move to Newcastle if it's ok with you Jeff, is just a bit of a pisser.
So the going public thing slightly tarnishes his 'I'm not agitating' stance somewhat.
Shame.
Would the contract not have been agreed last year when he signed on loan and we made it permanent, or when he signed this summer would it be a brand new contract, new wage etc

Few people saying Arokodare is done. Quite excited by that one, if it comes off. Scored a lot of goals, albeit in a lesser league. Be interesting to see if he can do that over here.

I was talking to Lycan about this in Portugal at the weekend.

Of course his agent wants the move, he gets paid if he moves. He doesn’t get anything from the stay at Wolves and sign a new deal route.

Especially if Mendes was involved. He gets the commission from JSL and a second when we turn to him in a panic for a replacement.

I think he'll do quite well on loan at Rangers.

Good evening gents and ladies, I’ve browsed this forum for ages but don’t really post - might have done one or two.

I’m genuinely interested, not intending to be a dick or argumentative, but what is wrong with Jorgen apparently wanting to (being interested in) moving ?

I don’t know what you guys do for a living, I know what I do. I’m relatively content where I am and I’m paid fairly for what I do, but if I was offered a better deal by an arguably more prestigious organisation surely I’d be an idiot if I was t interested ? And if I told my employer I was interested what’s wrong with that ?

Like I said, not trying to be a cock, just interested in the conversation.

For the umpteenth time; in an employment context, being a millionaire professional footballer in a cash-rich, internationally televised elite league is not the same as being district manager for Nando's.

Just like Taylor Swift the billionaire popstar and Tracy who works at Gala Bingo in Luton aren't comparable work analogies

I've no issue with JSL if the conversation went something like this:

"Mr Chairman - if I'm allowed to talk to Newcastle, I'd be very interested in a potential move to a Champions League club. If not, I'm happy leading the line here, and I won't kick up a fuss - I'll get on with my job"

Getting into the ins and outs of who has or hasn't said what to whom, when and why is so fucking tedious. There's nothing that I've actually seen from JSL on the pitch, or interviews post match etc that make me think he'd be anything other than professional if he does stay here.

Yes but Fabio and his mates said here we go or something.

I agree, but if we didn't discuss hypotheticals on here it would be tumbleweed central?

How is it unrealistic to expect him not to want to fuck off when he only signed permanently at the start of last month 😅
You’re suggesting that he’s kicking up a fuss though when he’s not. He’s said he’s liked to join Newcastle (is that weird to think that?!).

You agree to sell your house to someone tomorrow, you do all the completion and then at final hour someone tells you they’ll pay you 3x the amount, you ask your solicitor to pursue this, but then it turns out it’s all too late and it’s legally binding. Basically what you’re saying is he shouldn’t even entertain the better offer for…well, you haven’t actually given a reason other than he recently agreed a deal. Yes, unrealistic.

Why aren’t they ? It’s their job.

Taylor is massively successful, worth zillions, and very very pretty.

Tracy……isn’t.

They’re both people who want what’s best for themselves,
