Things that make you SAD thread.

Today we drove to Austin (70 miles).
9:55am toilet
10am depart
10:45 toilet
11:30 toilet
midday arrive Austin, toilet
12:45 lunch
1:20 toilet
1:30 walk
2:00 toilet
2:10 depart Austin
2:45 toilet
3:30 arrive home, toilet

If there is one thing I would like to change about getting older ....
That's quite a lot of walking

I have an annual checkup next month and will mention my prostate again. Last year the doctor dismissed my concerns after I told him I had previously had my prostate checked 25 years ago.

I get the feeling that the American health care system is changing. In the past, doctors would want every test under the sun, but not any longer. Age 66, first doctor visit in years, and was told I did not need any tests/exams at all. Wife has to specifically ask for tests or medication and is still often told they are not needed.

I guess it is either because we have Medicare, or because a lot of doctors practices have been purchased by venture capitalist firms that are pressuring doctors to see more patients - leading to less and less time for the doctor to spend with each one.

Maybe @Alan understands better.

@Dennisons Wrong Foot

For-profit hospitals are huge part of the issue, RFK, Jr. is another (he’s even pushed some states into requiring a prescription to get a COVID vaccine, even if you’re in a high risk cohort).

Mostly, though, it’s just a fucking terrible system that hasn’t prioritized actual healthcare over money in decades, certainly not in my lifetime.

I’m sorry y’all are catching the sharp end of it. I wish I knew some loophole you and yours could take advantage of.

But this is it!
Why do you call them bathrooms when there isn't a bath in there?
What's wrong with toilet? or The Men's room, I think you even use 'Restroom', even though you don't really rest...

Toilet/loo/bog would be my personal preferences, but after 20 years in another culture you have no choice but to assimilate.

Up north you’ll hear “washroom”, too.

Toilet probably makes the most sense as IIRC neither version of what I would call a toilet is actually a toilet.
