Trump

Europe putting itself in such a weak military position and being beholden to America was always asking for trouble. Expanding eastwards had its advantages but opened the door to problems playing out too. Trying to play collectively with a straight bat is seen as laughable by Putin when he knows it’s pretty much impossible for them to agree on anything while he does what he likes with the sweep of a pen.

Seems to me the NATO force alone is pretty much a waste of space as it stands and I’m not sure we can get involved in disputes in non NATO countries anyway.

Can only assume Zelenskyy signs the deal and the countries committed to NATO spend like never before very, very quickly and those who want to return east do so.

Leaves anyone not in NATO in an extremely vulnerable position but I’m not sure we’re in any position to stop Putin doing whatever he likes with those.

What is the general consensus over there on what happened yesterday? I guess the MAGA hardcore loved it but millions of Americans on both Dem and Republic sides must be squirming?

I'll be honest with you, mate, I've completely buried my head in the sand.

Frankly, I'm too afraid of discovering that the average conservative will bow even to this. Thank the fucking Lord that my parents are true Constitutionalists; I may not share that, but at least they understand how fucked this all is.

I'm mad at myself as much as anything for taking the optimistic view that Congress wouldn't be so self-serving that they would not only defend the treasonous, malignant tumors wearing the Presidential titles, but fucking applaud them.

I try my very best to find good in people. I try my very, very best to wish harm on none. At absolute worst, my hatred typically ends in "wouldn't be sad if they died". Never have I truly, genuinely wanted slow, excruciating death to befall others. But fuck me if that isn't exactly how I feel now.

I am extremely uncomfortable with it, but the truth is simply that I hate them. I wish no human decency on them whatsoever.

I don't know that I have ever felt such complete, total disdain before. I would rather be forced back into a relationship with my rapist than see these genetic mistakes steal more oxygen.

*Fuck*.

I found myself on the comments under the Fox News story on it, and it was overwhelmingly positive feedback on it, but they HATE Zelenskiy so much it's insane. The White House comments was I would say majority embarrassed/ashamed though

No need to apologise at all. It's difficult time but you've got to take care if yourself, and there are 10s of millions of your fellow citizens who are on your side.
