Wolves Loan Watch 2025/2026

A few bits from mid-week.

Nasser Djiga played the full game in a 3-1 defeat at home to Club Brugge. We've all seen his efforts for the first, so let's just leave it at that.

Nigel Lonwijk played the full game in mid-week in a 1-0 win at home to Wigan. This time he played ar RCB but seemed to get away with it a couple of times after struggling in the air.

Arthur Nasta got his first clean sheet of the season in a 1-0 win at Enfield.

Also, check out this week's OGR.

From the weekend:

Boubacar Traore - FC Metz (Ligue 1)

Played the full game in a 3-0 defeat at Lyon. Stung the keeper's palms with a 30-yard fizzer, but didn't do much else.

Nigel Lonwijk - Luton Town (League One)

Played 58 minutes in his favoured RWB role (!) as Luton slipped to another 1-0 defeat, this time at home to Cardiff. Wonder how long the gaffer's going to persist with that particular square-peg-in-round-hole.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
It's 3 draws out of 3 in the league for Storer and his team, the latest coming in a 2-2 draw at home to Ayr. Both goals conceded coming off set-pieces

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)
Played in a 3-1 win over Hornchurch, in which he got the assist for the third - a long ball over the top. Then played in a 3-3 draw at Salisbury this afternoon.

A YouTube short of some of his saves:

On as sub: Tommy Doyle came on for the last half hour for Blues in their 1-0 win at home to Oxford. Picked out Dykes with a nice chipped pass late on which the striker headed just over.

Not in squad: Djiga (suspended)

Two bits of mid-week news:

Nasser Djiga playing the full game in Club Brugge's 6-0 rout of Rangers. Lax defending all round but the only goal you can really put his way is the first when he seemed to forget there was a forward next to him, who duly nipped in front of him and headed it home. Still, that's 11 goals conceded in the last 3 games with him in the team.

Tommy Doyle, meanwhile, played 77 minutes in Blues' Carabao Cup defeat at home to Big Dave's Port Vale.

From the weekend:

Boubacar Traore - FC Metz (Ligue 1)

Played 90 minutes of a 3-2 defeat at Paris FC and scored to make it 2-2 in the second half. He pounced on a loose ball near the halfway line, then played a one-two before slotting home.

Goal around the 2:50 mark.

Nasser Djiga - Rangers (SPL)
Played in the stalemate vs Celtic. A clean sheet at long last, though.

Nigel Lonwijk - Luton Town (League One)
Played the full game at CB in a 3-0 win at Burton.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
Yet another draw (four out of four in the league) in a 1-1 at St. Johnstone, although it was a decent result as SJ had won all their previous three.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)
Played in a 3-0 win over Chippenham as Hornchurch go top with 16 points from a possible 18.

On as sub: Tommy Doyle came on for the last 15 minutes for Blues in their 2-0 defeat at Leicester.

New loans added:

Pedro Lima to Porto for the season
Dexter Lembikisa to Lincoln (League One) and Harvey Griffiths to Crewe (League Two) - both til January.

From the past mid-week and weekend.

Storer played as Greenock's drawing run came to an end in a 1-0 defeat at home to Raith. Looked to have misjudged the flight of a long ball and the forward nodded it past him.

Nasta played in a 1-1 at Ebbsfleet this weekend (beaten by a lucky ricochet) and a 1-0 win at home to Dorking last Tuesday. Unbeaten in their opening eight and are top of the league by a point.

On as sub: Lonwijk came on for the last 17 minutes of Luton's EFL Trophy win last week. No game for them this weekend.

Not in squad: Griffiths, Lembikisa

Note: Just realised I've been missing Lewys Benjamin from the updates - he's currently on loan at Chester. He played in their opening day 3-2 home win but picked up an injury and has been out ever since. Must be for some time as they've since signed another young keeper on loan.

From the weekend:

Boubacar Traore - FC Metz (Ligue 1)
Played the full game in a 1-1 draw at home to Angers. First point of the season for Metz but they're still bottom.

Nasser Djiga - Rangers (SPL
Started the home game vs but was subbed at HT in a 2-0 home defeat to Hearts. Looked sluggish defending the first, got over pretty slowly and failed to block the shot. Full-on crisis for Martin now, down in 10th and nine points off the top.

Nigel Lonwijk - Luton Town (League One)
Another half-time sub, this time in a 3-2 defeat at home to Plymouth. Made it way too easy for his opponent to get across him and put the cross in for the first.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
Another draw (their fifth in six) and second league clean sheet of the season for Storer. Made a few decent saves to earn it.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)a
Played in a 2-1 defeat at Phil Brown's Peterborough Sports as they go out of the FA Cup in the second qualifying round.

On as sub: Tommy Doyle came on for the last hour as Blues lost 1-0 at Stoke, while Sasa played a similar amount of time in a 1-0 defeat at Altach.

Not in squad: Lima, Lembikisa, Griffiths, Benjamin.

From the last weekend:
Sasa Kaladjzic - LASK, Austrian Bundesliga
Made his first start, playing almost an hour in a 2-0 win vs local rivals Blau Weiss Linz

Nigel Lonwijk - Luton Town (League One)
Played the full game in a 3-1 defeat at league leaders Lincoln last weekend. Looked like he was at RWB again. Booked. Luton dp

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
Played as GM drew yet again (six out of seven), this time 1-1 at Arbroath.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)a
Played in a 5-2 win at 10-man Slough. Hornchurch were 2-1 down but Nasta made an excellent save to stop it from being three - then they went and scored four in the last 15 minutes.

On as sub: Tommy Doyle came on for the last 10 of Blues' 1-0 win at home to Swansea and flashed a 20-yard effort just wide.

Unused sub: Djiga
Not in squad: Traore, Lembikisa, Griffiths, Benjamin.
No game: Lima

From this weekend:

Boubacar Traore - FC Metz (Ligue 1)
Played the full game in a goalless draw at home to Le Havre. Had a free header from a free-kick but put it over the bar.

Pedro Lima - Porto B (Liga Portugal 2)
Made his debut and played the full game as Porto B drew 2-2 away.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
Another draw! Seven in eight league games and their fourth 1-1. Goal conceded was a pen which he got a hand to but couldn't quite keep out.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)
Played in a 0-0 draw at home to Dover as Hornchurch stay two points clear at the top

On as sub: Tommy Doyle came on after 77 minutes for Blues in their 3-0 defeat at Coventry

Unused sub: Djiga, Kaladjzic
Not in squad: Lonwijk (injured), Lembikisa, Griffiths, Benjamin.

A few bits from mid-week:

Tommy Doyle made his first home league start of the season, playing 58 minutes of Blues' 2-2 draw with Sheff Weds. Played a part in the neat passing build-up for the first goal.

Dexter Lembikisa made his debut for Lincoln, playing the full game in a 3-0 win over Man United U21s in the FL Trophy. Got an assist for the second which is worth a watch: jinked his way past a couple of players before putting over a fine cross.

Unused sub: Djiga

Not in squad: Nigel Lonwijk (injured)

From this weekend:

Sasa Kaladjzic - LASK (Austrian Bundesliga)
Played an hour at home to TSV. Left the pitch with his team 1-0 down then the game exploded into life, finishing 3-3.

Boubacar Traore - FC Metz (Ligue 1)
Played the full game in a 3-0 home defeat to OM.

Nasser Djiga - Rangers, SPL
Played the full game in Russell Martin's final game, a 1-1 draw at Falkirk. Got away with one near the end when he got nudged off balance and the forward almost got the winner but for a good stop.

Pedro Lima - Porto B (Liga Portugal 2)
Played the full game in a 3-2 defeat at home to Toreense.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
Finally a win to break the run of draws. Played in a 2-1 win at Airdrie and messed up for the goal conceded, playing it to a team mate who was under pressure instead of making a simpler pass to his right. Made up for it later with a superb tip over the bar.

Arthur Nasta - Hornchurch FC (National League South)
Played in a 1-1 draw at home to Horsham. Unlucky for the goal which took a wild deflection and looped over his head. Hornchurch still unbeaten (W4 D7) and are top.

On as sub: Tommy Doyle came on after 81 minutes for Blues in their 1-1 draw at Wrexham.

Not in squad: Lonwijk (injured), Lembikisa, Griffiths, Benjamin.

Only Storer in action this weekend.

James Storer - Greenock Morton (Scottish Championship)
Back to the drawing board once again as Pools favourites GM drew 1-1 at home to Partick, conceding a 93rd minute equaliser - 8 draws out of their opening 10 games. Storer put in a fine performance, making a string of impressive saves.

Not in squad: Benjamin
