Time for an update on an old favourite thread.

Also going to re-run the All Time Wolves XI ballot thread this summer if the interest is there. But for this one, just pick your team and subs. Any formation you like, so long as you don't cheat and put players where they never actually played...

--------------------------------Peter Schmeichel-----------------------------

Gary Neville-----------Vincent Kompany---------Rio Ferdinand-----------Ashley Cole

----------------Kevin de Bruyne----Roy Keane------Paul Scholes--------------

----------------Eden Hazard-----Alan Shearer-----Thierry Henry-------------------

Subs: Ederson, Jaap Stam, Cesar Azpilicueta, Patrick Vieira, David Silva, Mo Salah, Harry Kane

8/18 current PL players (including Vinny K, he only left yesterday) for me. Underlines how strong the top end of the league is at the moment.

No Ronaldo for me! He was of course superb for United in his final 2-3 years but he only really became an absolute beast at Real.

Fucking difficult

———— Schmeichel

GNev——Terry——Rio——Cashley

————Keane——Scholes

———————Bergkamp

—-Hazard———Shearer——-Henry

No sub goalie
Aguero Salah Vieira Kompany Giggs Beckham Gerrard

As long as Tommo stays in the Wolves one just for the Sniffer rage!

433 - no current players
Schmeichel
Neville
Rio
Vidic
Cole

Scholes
Gerrard
Vieira

Ronaldo
Shearer
Henry

Peter Schmeichel

Gary Neville
Rio Ferdinand
John Terry
Ashley Cole

Patrick Vieira
Roy Keane
Paul Scholes

Thierry Henry
Alan Shearer
Sergio Aguero

Subs:

Petr Cech, Vincent Kompany, David Silva, Steven Gerrard, Kevin De Bruyne, Eric Cantona, Wayne Rooney

And yes, I have included the player who won me the first 2 season of PTG. #alwaysmynumber1pick

Waz is a weird one. 200+ PL goals. I never even remotely considered him.

Probably still scarred from him standing and pointing in the centre circle vs Iceland.

From 2001ish onwards...

Cech

Neville
Ferdinand
Kompany
Cole

Lampard
Vieira
Keane

Ronaldo
Aguero
Henry

Subs: van der Sar, Vidic, azpilicueta, Scholes, Silva, Rooney, Hazard

I suspect players like Salah, Van Dijk, Sterling, de Bruyne. Kane will be in or about it as time goes by too.

From about 2007/08, what I can remember. RB is the one I struggled with.

Edwin van der Sar
Cesar Azpilicueta - Vincent Kompany - Nemanja Vidic - Ashley Cole
Kevin de Bruyne - N'Golo Kante - Frank Lampard
Eden Hazard - Sergio Aguero - Cristiano Ronaldo

Subs: Petr Cech, Virgil van Dijk, Patrice Evra, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Mo Salah, Harry Kane

3-5-2 and players I’ve seen in my lifetime

Petr Cech
Ferdinand - Kompany - Vidic
Hazard - Lampard - Scholes - Gerrard - Ronaldo
Rooney - Aguero

Subs: Van der Sar, Dennis Irwin, John Terry, Ashley Cole, David Beckham, David Silva & Harry Kane

Non cheating version

It's the same thing, James.

They have both literally never played there at any point in their entire lives.

Didn’t Ronaldo start on the right of a 4-4-2 for United?

I tried to cheat a bit... corrected for you dw

He was a fucking winger at that time.

Playing him as a wing back is like playing Bobby Moore as a fucking number nine you colossal numbskull

Can't have somebody in an all time Premier League XI who never won the damn thing.

Peter Schmeichel

Gary Neville
Rio Ferdinand
Nemanja Vidic
Ashley Cole

Cristiano Ronaldo
Roy Keane
Paul Scholes
Robert Pires

Thierry Henry
Alan Shearer

De Gea, Terry, Vieira, Giggs, Lampard, Aguero, Van Persie.

Peter Schmeichel

Gary Neville (If TAA continues on his current path he will take this spot in a few years)
Rio Ferdinand
Jaap Stam
Ashley Cole

Cristiano Ronaldo
Steven Gerrard
Paul Scholes
Ryan Giggs

Sergio Aguero
Thierry Henry

Subs: David Seaman, Nemanja Vidic, Frank Lampard, Patrick Vieira, David Beckham, Alan Shearer, David Silva

No Shearer in the XI for me as despite all his goals, Henry and Aguero are better players.

Shearer >>>> Aguero for me.

He was an unbelievable player and re-invented himself after two terrible injuries.

That bench would make most teams sweat
