Just seen the advert for Elden Ring. Looks like Skyrim on steroids.

It's Dark Souls on steroids. The only thing Skyrim about it is that there are trees and swords.

Kind of a bummer, really like JRRM and would've enjoyed the setting but I have zero desire to play any of these new Souls type games. There are a few roguelikes I can get into, but fun short-hit kinda stuff.

Last I looked, I think I had logged 10,000 hours in Civ V on Steam.

I had a lot of free time in college.

Every time I install Civ I play like a 40 hour campaign and force myself to uninstall once finished.

the Tiny Tina DLC for BL2 is one of my all time favorite video game moments, was pretty hype for the new TTW to come out, but only have 1 friend playing atm. kind of a bummer. was hoping would be a fun chance for co-op

I’ve never played a souls game before but I’m loving Elden Ring, I think it’s a bit easier to get into and there’s so much to explore you don’t really get stuck anywhere, you just go somewhere else if there’s a crazy boss you can’t beat!

I remember trying to go in the wrong direction for about five hours in the first Dark Souls before realizing there was another (more appropriate for my level) path in the opposite direction.

Had I not been in college there's no chance I would have stuck with it after that.

I bought Dark Souls in late 2013. Tried to start it half a dozen or more times. Never lasted longer than about 20 minutes before deciding it's shite.

Bad controls, rubbish graphics, cheaty AI, blatant death traps, boring as fuck.

Mind you I don't really care for Skyrim either and loads of people on here love it.

Bumping this as I've just built a new PC. Decided to put it all together myself for the first time. Was fairly easy, just took time double checking everything with manuals. Cable management to make everything look nice and neat and tucked away took the most time. No RGB nonsense, windows and lights flashing everywhere as its a bedroom PC so needs to be quiet and dark. Didn't bother with AIO water cooler, as I don't push the hardware enough to warrant it. I do occasional video editing and VR gaming/video.

Spec:
Case - BeQuiet! Silent Base 600
CPU - Intel i5-12600k
Cooler - BeQuiet! Dark Rock Slim
MOBO - Asus Prime Z690-A
RAM - 2 x 8GB DDR5 Kingston Beast Fury 4800Mhz CL38
GPU - Nvidia GTX1650 SUPER (from my old system)
PSU - BeQuiet Straight Power 11 650W 80+Gold
Storage - 500GB WD Black SN750 Nvme (from my old system)
Storage - Seagate IronWolf Pro 8TB 7200rpm HDD (from my old system)

Also used an old 120mm Noctua fans for the rear exhaust, and a couple of new 140mm Silent Wings fans from Be Quiet behind the front panel for intake.

I know I went too powerful on CPU, Mobo and RAM with the DDR5 setup, but I don't upgrade very often so wanted a DDR5/PCI-e 5.0 setup to last me several years.

This is the case, and the pic of inside once it was all built and cable managed.

Good work on the cables. Inside of the NAS I built looks like spaghetti junction if it was designed by someone on LSD.

I finally got the platinum trophy for Horizon Forbidden West the other day - on about 60 hours played I think!

Upgraded my PS+ account to the middle tier. Just starting Guardians of the Galaxy, which I've heard great things about.

Has anyone played Deliver Us the Moon? Just seen the trailer for the follow up and wondered if the first one was worth a go?
