Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

you can do a lot with statistics.
downsizing your economy, through self inflicted means or other, is probably not the smartest thing to do even if it can bring about higher growth figures thereafter.

We fought hard to leave the EU and many tried to overturn the democtic vote to leave the EU and now we have a Labour government who was completely against Brexit, only in power because it embraces Brexit.
From where I am standing, it makes me immensely proud to be British and proclaim that Leeds is definitely in the UK 🇬🇧 and not in the EU.
There were lies on all sides, but today we are a free nation and when my body is put to rest, I will die knowing that the British people chose to be in charge of their own destiny.
Serious question Walshes: Is this a quote from someone, a joke or are you extracting the urine out of naive Brexiteers?:unsure:

On reading the recent list of postings, I observe from my haven in the Mosel valley of sunny Germany that some people have been completely duped by Farage and his masters in the Establishment.

On Monday Leedswolf provided an excellent starter document about Fraud Farage. It included the following statement which has obviously not been read or perhaps understood by certain members:

Farage’s success wasn’t born from grassroots rage. It was bankrolled by TV millionaires and hedge fund managers with one primary concern: the growing threat of EU regulations on financial transparency. The EU was moving toward mandatory disclosure of beneficial ownership, tighter corporate tax laws, and cross-border cooperation that would have exposed Britain’s offshore tax havens. The very on wealthy were running scared — and Farage offered them a lifeline.

Enter Arron Banks, the multimillionaire insurance tycoon with opaque finances and offshore dealings. Add to the mix a network of hedge funders; libertarian think tanks and tax haven defenders. Farage became their man — a “rebel” with a tailored script.

This was the main reason for the UK Establishment to start rolling out around 2012 the twin distractions of mass immigration and the protection of 'sovereignty' from baddies in Brussels. The naivety of people who think that an elected government runs the country continues today because the true story has not been shared enough.

Brexit was quite simply a confidence trick to protect dirty money in the City of London being regulated. Nothing more, nothing less!

You know I do really love Germany and I have some very good friends thre and spend at least a few months there a year. I will give a general opinion of what I see and what I am told by German citizens. The train service is a joke, shops are closing down in record numbers. Many Germany companies are relocating and a lot of people are complaining about immigration and Germany has been in recession for nearly 2 years, while Spain are enjoying spending the Covid funds, which German Indirectly pays for.

That is frightening if it is what he truly believes.
I invite Walshes over for a beer and then my terrible EU mates can try to educate him and open his eyes.
I've got mates who support the EU both here in the UK and in Germany. I have openly admitted there were lies on both sides and I genuinely feel that there are decent people on both sides of the divide and also intransigent and obnoxious people who only feel that what they believe is the truth and everything else is a lie. That is ridiculous to me, almost insane.
I know one person on this forum personally, who is a Remainer and the most decent person you could ever meet, I mean that sincerely.
Brexit has happened, it isn't completely like I wanted it to be, but it is nowhere as bad as people made out it would be.

You will find the same response in France, Germany and many other places about their countries. The world has changed
So, most people everywhere are unhappy with the general state of affairs. Fair enough. What does it all mean?

Fair enough but do you acknowledge that Brexit was because of the EU starting a process to regulate dirty money flows in the EU members states and the UK Establishment response was to reject this by orchestrating Brexit?
By the way, your nationalist post was horrendous. If I was you I would put it down to a few beers and quietly delete it as you've had your trousers pulled down by City oiks and their fellow travellers.

The better question is, are Germans happy with the general state of things in Germany?
Not really but Germany hasn't pulled out of the EU because of limits to the flow of dirty money through Frankfurt as a partial response to the disgrace of the financial bail outs of financial institutions after 2008.

So do Germans look at the Uk and think it's a wonderful non-EU Eutopia?
Definitely not. Most Germans don't care much about the UK. They've more important and more local things to interest them.
Educated and government aware people I know will welcome the Brits back eventually in a decade or so at the minimum but they won't be happy about mega millions being wasted on the process instead of being spent fixing their crumbling transport infrastructure.

Plenty of dirty money and corruption in the EU, surely you know this?

For sure, but you are ignoring the fact that the UK was pulled out by the Establishment to protect dirty money in The City and places like Gibraltar. I haven't heard of any other EU member states´ money dealers squealing so much about the post 2012 controls in places like Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam.
