We don't owe Fosun much/anything so they can't take it back

They don't and won't pay themselves dividends

They can't just rip transfer income off the club and keep it themselves, it's not legal

Yep, the only way to extract cash in the absence of any loans that need to be repaid by the club to Fosun would be by way of a dividend to shareholder(s), which can only happen if there is enough retained profit from the previous financial year to pay a dividend (otherwise, it's an unlawful dividend). I went down a rabbit hole, gestifute paid £45m in dividends in 2023, guo would have got 20% of that. Which, as you say, is peanuts to him

Fair, but it can also reduce losses and in theory they can sell the club with less debt. I withtrack my theory however, just trying to understand this madness as much as the next person.
