Good people of Britain...........PANIC

I usually have to travel a couple of thousand miles for that rather than just open my patio doors.

Going on holiday tomorrow for a bit of sun. Could have saved a few bob.

Alnmouth is lovely. Some nice pubs in Seahouses which is next to Bamburgh.
When the weather is good it is indeed a lovely area. Got everything you want from a holiday destination. When I say you I actually mean me.
Think it's a good time of year to go on a little boat trip to the Farne islands etc to see the Puffins and other wild life.

After weeks of sitting in the house on a Sunday afternoon watching football while the sun shines outside, today as I predicted most weeks to Mrs Lupo, the weather has been a mixture of sunshine and showers and not particularly warm when the sun goes in plus no footie to watch indoors - I'm really bored!

Got 5Live on my pad, weather warnings for the West Midlands at the weekend apparently.

Temperatures looking strong way into the distance.

I know the heat gets to some people but for me the magical all-too-rare sweet spot is the shortish period where the sun has dropped down but it’s still daylight and very warm. Blissfully sat in a garden too, doesn’t matter if it’s the one at home with a glass of red, or a pub garden with a pint of beer.

We’re a long time cooped up so embrace it and don’t wish it away.

I'm normally delighted with a nice heatwave... but I've got to run a 10k race in this on Saturday. It's going to be horrible!!

I'll make sure I enjoy the sun afterwards.

Start hydrating now. Seriously. Drink plenty of water, fuel up on electrolytes, have an energy gel with you. It's only 10k, but take no chances in the heat that's forecast. Years ago I ran a 10k race on a hot day, I'd been working all day, hadn't been drinking water, set off too fast and 200m from the end my legs were shaking and I finished up vomiting and being checked over by paramedics. All down to dehydration.

Great minds! Got a nice variety of electrolyte tabs and I've got gels to take with me. I wouldn't normally bother with a gel at that distance but not chancing it with this forecast.
