Is Vitor Pereira A Good Manager Or Should He Go?

At this point I think we should just do the exact opposite of whatever shi thinks is best

Unbelievably we spent £10m Wolfe who is now third choice behind two players who were already here. On a par with Djiga when it comes to flushing money down the toilet
Nobody else would come, clearly. Whoever is sanctioning these 'additions' to the squad has some explaining to do.

I mean, what the AF have we assembled? I wouldn't trust this team to finish in the top half of the Championship, let alone survive in the Prem. So much for Shi's "good window". We sold our only good players (JSL aside, arguably) and replaced them with shirt-fillers.

Relegated sides still have the financial advantages and that still gives gives clubs increased value compared to others at the level. I feel like even with relegation we won't see the end of Jeff sadly.

The idea of Parachute Payments is to cover wages when income falls dramatically. If you sell all the players on high wages the PP doesn’t give much of a boost to a team’s chances of promotion. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if there’s a fire sale but I’ll be amazed if they don’t sell anyone for whom there’s a buyer.

Mendes will pick the bones for his final payday too.

The same media outlets laughing at our VP situation were the same ones banging the drum to support GON last season.
Not saying they’re wrong about VP but the hypocrisy when it goes from an English coach to Johnny Foreigner is comical.
Whoever has waved through some of these signings needs bringing to account.
Early days but Tchatchoau looks an athlete not a footballer. Wolfe a championship LB, Arias looks lost in the PL, Lopez wrong signing for us kind of player that would’ve been ideal with the side between 2018-2021, not this bunch. Tolu to early to say but we look clueless how to use him best. Krejci looks a good player. So 1/6 has hit the ground running.
164 clubs in the top 6 tiers of English football and only 1 is pointless.
One thing having low quality players but having low quality with poor mentality is asking for a disaster.

I know, my point was that even though that's what I expect to happen. I just don't think getting relegated and selling the players results in Jeff leaving or the team being sold.

A team with parachute payments has an artificially inflated value still.

Tbf the narrative last week was that he’d done a good job but hadn’t been backed. Now it’s obviously changed to giving a new contract to a manager you might have to sack is fucking stupid.

Problem is, it’s Vitor and his mate who have sanctioned these deals, they are all on his pissing list

His biggest issue has been the transfers this summer.

I personally think we have a squad that is as bad as anything but the major issue is the profile of player. We have no-one who can run with the ball and that ruins any game plan at the highest level.

Look at Okofor yesterday. I don't think he's that good, but it gave Leeds an outlet. They also have James and Gnonto to come in. We have nobody like this and it's terrible.

Imagine Leeds having to play the entire season with Aaronson and Harrison. They would have no chance, and we have the equivalent.

No counter attacking threat or someone to provide a spark restricts us massively.

Maybe they thought Arias was that player, but he's not. If you started from scratch, you should be able to make a better job of things with a £100m spend. We had Gomes, Andre, Larsen and a few decent players and then a £100m spend, and it's come out like this! Just incredibly shit.

So it's hard to judge Pereira from a managerial point of view because I think we have the biggest imbalanced squad in the league by a mile.

First the pints, then the pitchforks.

I think the arguments saying this is VP's squad now and we've spent XYZ in so much monopoly money are weak and only helping make Fosun/Shi's narrative for them.

They're all going to act like they gave him everything even this new contract when in reality this is a culmination of shocking transfer strategies for seasonS and the latest one where they sent off their two best players in June and couldn't replace them until the season started (and with whom, wow). A team where the the club captain would rather take a pay cut and less years to play on the other side of the world Europe.

That's what I think is the worst thing about our core 4 players (Agba, Mids, JSL), not that they're underperforming the whole team is but that there's not a leader between them better than Traore?

The playing squad is just assembled. It's a chimera of Mendes players, GON players, Hobbs players, VP and Teti players. Is it any wonder they are what they are now? I'll stop short of hate for any of them, even Hwang or the new Dave Edwards, but it's just not a likeable group.

Ultimately though the club have painted themselves into a corner and no matter how likeable VP is if a non-promoted club is rock bottom and staying there he has to go. Its going to be mission impossible for next fire-fighter coach too because all they do is circle the drain.

Which shows the issue is with the idiots that gave Teti his new hybrid role, the idiots who looked at the worst league start in Wolves' history that this is when to give VP an extension not in the off-season.

tldr: Fuck Fosun, Jeff Shi Out

Players refused to come here despite details sorted with the clubs. That's not on VP or Teti, that's on Jeff/Fosun.

Only Burnley are shorter with the bookies than us to go down. The best price you can get on us is 3/4 with Betway, everyone else has us around 4/9, 4/11, 2/5 or 8/15.

Not surprising, we just don't look capable of picking up points anywhere right now. Prior to yesterday's game against a poor, newly promoted side I felt that if we failed to win we were done.

Listening to the Everton fans the other week and Leeds fans yesterday, it's a long time since we had that joy. There is no pleasure or enjoyment associated with following this club anymore, just misery and embarrassment
