Liverpool (H) 16/9: Build-Up & Match Thread

It was a shit goal kick but let's not pretend it led directly to the goal. Robertson just trotted through our entire team unopposed to score.

Sa probably should have kept it but no one picked Robertson up which is criminal defending. Like all of our defending this season.

Same shit, different week. Forwards not good enough to finish each chance and defenders not good enough to compensate the lack of cutting edge the other end.
More to it this week, IMO.

First half we got the tactics absolutely spot on. Completely took them apart. Second half they adjusted, and our attempt to respond has been a wet blanket.

This is two matches in a row now that O’Neil has failed to adapt our play to the adjustments of the opposition. It’s clear he can plan well given time, but if he can’t do it on the fly, other managers at this level will have the freedom of Sundays during every second half against us.

Fuck off. Just when 8 mins go up.

Can't believe we let a random roadman score again

No one's pretending. It was plain for all to see. Sa delicately lofted the ball to a Liverpool midfielder who started an attack which seconds later saw the ball in the back of the net.

It absolutely directly led to the goal.

Yep. His tactics always seem to get worked out at half time and there's no answer.

1-3. Gutted.

First half performance we shouldn’t be losing today. GoN’s half time team talk, his negative substitutions and his lack of experience at the top table has cost us badly. Chuck all that in with Cunha missing an open goal from 2 foot out and we’ve ultimately got what we deserve.

Another blot on the GoN book today.

We also didn't track a player that ran 40 yards, or managed to make a challenge.

If Lemina gives the ball away 40 yards from goal, is a goal directly his fault?

Fabio Silva is easily the slowest forward in the Premier League.
For all Cunha's fault, Fabio has offered nothing, he looks to be regressing up front. Good at getting tangled in his defender but not much else.

Cunha lookin’ like me after I ask a girl to coffee.
