REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

How will leaving the EU fix any of that?

By having control on unskilled labour and bringing in the skilled labour that we need. The bargaining power of the working man has been depleted.
My point is, you can't keep using as a defence, that we need to remain in the EU to protect us from our own elected politicians, when the biggest erosion of workers rights has happened while we are in the EU.
The biggest erosion of workers rights, happened under a socialist goverment, as a prerequisite, to meet EU directives aimed at cutting back the number of public sector workers. I think the EU are trying to do the same in Greece, also. I stand to be corrected on that.

It wasn't relevant to my decision. You, however, have stated that "that there should be no supremacy over a democratically elected sovereign government, by an unelected foreign state" which is the situation with both NATO and the UN. It seems reasonable to assume that your principles don't stop at the EU and that you would apply them consistently. Hahahaha.

So I ask again, do you also want out of NATO and the UN?

No to NATO, we have an agreement with them that protects member states, in case of a Russian attack on a member state. I don't see it in the way as EU law which directly effects our every day life.
The UN, I don't know enough about to make an opinion.

I have also showed several times on this thread that the population growth to which you refer is not even average globally in the time period it was over.

You do this so often, bring back an old previously de-bunked point, and dress it up as new material.

We are one of the most populated countries in the world, if you take our land mass in to account. The increase in our population should be measured aginst other EU countries, too. Many people are having to leave their countries in southern Europe, because the EU is not working.
We haven't got enough doctors, nurses, hospitals or houses to keep up with our increase in population. I know what you will say, bring more doctors, nurses, from abroad and Leeds will tell you, we need more builders, we don't have enough builders, so bring more of those too. One, where does it stop, 2 we are a trillion in debt, how the fuck are we going to pay for it. The UK as in other EU countries, is bankrupt.

And as I have told you until I am blue in the face the rate of population growth you keep referring to is, by absolutely any measure, neither outlandish or unreasonable. Hell, it isn't even close to average, globally, or within the EU.

According to those statistics, The UK will have the biggest population in the EU, by 2050 and Germany and most similar sized countries will see a sharp decline in their populations.

But you have been quoting historical growth and now are saying it will all be a "by 2050" timescale.

That is not the same thing. I am giving you a fact. You are giving me a supposition that seems to be not grounded in fact. Why should Germany have a decline in population then? There is nothing in historical statistical analysis at all to show that is coming.

If we need more doctors, nurses builders etc, why are we closing the borders?

We shouldn't close the borders to skilled people, that we need, but we shouldn't bring in unskilled workers, when we have 4 million workers living in poverty and 8.5 inactive people and a housing benefit bill of over 3 billion pounds. More people, means more demand lower relative wages for the low paid and higher rents.

your words not mine! I dont like people losing jobs , but I dont like the biscuit and didnt buy it. The reason they have lost their jobs is not down solely to brexit. The product isnt that good is it? As for the timing, well why now? Its been six months. Biscuit sales go up at Xmas. Cynical? Maybe. Does not change my opinion of the product one iota. Would I buy them to save their jobs? No.
