REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Calculations show that Brexit had already cost the UK 1% of GDP before it even left the EU. In the three years after the transition period, the cost has increased to 2-3%. That is only the beginning. These costs and problems do not go away, they are not one offs. NIESR calculates that by 2035 the cost will rise to 5-6% of GDP.

These figures are even worse than the Office for Budget Responsibility’s forecasts of 4%, which were made some time ago and in line with the work by researchers at the London School of Economics.

What a thoroughly depressing self inflicted situation we find ourselves in.

And one of the main orchestrators of all this is on main stream TV eating bums, out of choice, for entertainment.

Nexit next?

Far right party PVV, led by Geert Wilders appear to have won the most seats in the Dutch elections. They are in favour of leaving the EU, however they’ve been elected more on the basis of their anti immigrant rhetoric.

So a mealy mouthed way of saying susceptible to believing any old bollocks spewed forth from the mouth of Boris Johnson

In 2016, net migration to the UK was 335,000, and reducing that historically high number was a big factor behind the campaign for Brexit. In the last year it was 745,000.

So Brexit has more than doubled immigration. Or rather, the Brexiters have more than doubled immigration, which amounts to the same thing.

So... smaller bottles of wine is a Brexit benefit..?

Ironically the 750ml sized wine bottle was standardised to satisfy London's wine merchants and sellers. 6 bottles to an Imperial gallon 😉

French isnt. Edit - ignore me it is! I’m sure it was 70 for years but clearly not

Oh my god they're still hung up on the pints of champagne.

Nobody gives a shit. Nobody has ever given a shit. But the weirdo Churchill botherers know he used to drink them, so they must come back.
