Team v Charlton

Charlton keeper again makes a good take from Henry's cross before a Edwards can get to it

Afobe turns & charges towards the box - Bikey gets back well to make the tackle & out for a corner

Afobe holds off Bikey & cleverly feeds Henry - cross is taken off Edwards head by Tal Ben Haim & out for a corner

That's the first half done - some signs of life from us towards the end, but need to get more pace on so Dicko on for Edwards - Charlton's defence is not the quickest & needs to be tested more

We've had 60% possession. with 6 shots and none on target. Charlton have no shots and no corners.
Henry ghosts past the full back and with a stab of extra pace creates a bit of space but his decent cross isn't that decent as a flying in Edwards can't get close to that...
Now Afobe is racing in with a good ball from Henry and as Afobe looks to cut it back he's tackled and the ball's out for a corner...
Which comes to nothing.

Edwards to Henry to Afobe and he's holding the ball up well to VLP to Edwards and Henry whips that in and it's out for a corner....
Decent enough finish I suppose, but it's all a bit loose and scruffy.

Let's let Kenny sort it out and see how we can get these defensive deep playing lads from London on the back foot and get some scoring started.

Half time 0-0.

Slight improvement last 2 mins.

But otherwise it's been long diagonals to Bikey and Ben Haim (they'll gobble that up all day). We don't seem to have the ability in midfield to dominate the ball and have meaningful possession. KMac and Price just too deep and not willing/good enough to get forward with the ball.

Plus wingers just hugging touch line rather than coming inside to get involved and make space out wide for Full backs. Very one dimensional and easy to defend against. The few times we got a decent overlap VLP slowed it down too much before he released it and chance was gone.

Non eventful half. We look good when we run at them but haven't created enough of those situations. We need to pass the ball a lot quicker, you can see Charlton have worked all week on their shape. They all know their roles

Would bring Edwards/Henry off for Dicko personally. Can possibly see Price being the one who makes way though.

Looks like Dicko and Golbourne coming on, both warming up with Daley

So I assume price and Hause with us sticking 442

I think that's what it will be, possibly Henry off with same shape we went second half last week

Golbourne now on for Hause & Dicko for Henry

Called it right YW

Big cheer for Golbourne when he is announced - at least Kenny isn't afraid to be decisive when needed

Yes, it's Henry off for Dicko, which is a shame for Henry he hasn't had a bad game and Golbourne is on for Hause, who's not had a great game...

We're off.

Afobe with a lash of pace lays it off to Edwards into the box and it's deflected wide for a corner.... which again comes to nothing and is cleared.

Atmosphere has picked up...
Pace of the game has picked up too.
Golbourne with a free kick....
comes in right next to the near post and VLP gets in front of the defender and it's out for a corner.... which comes to nothing and cleared...

Golbourne FK - VLP gets in front of the defender & the header is goalbound till Bikey just gets a head to it & away

Ikeme finally has to make a save which is on target as Charlton break quickly & shoot from distance - palmed clear & away by Iorfa

Great effort there from VLP to get in front of the defender to get his header on target but it was headed out for a corner.

Charlton on a counter get it into our box and a shot flashes in and Ikeme makes a good save getting 2 strong hands to it out for a corner. Corner comes in and Stearman flying in fearelessly gets stuck in ther cleans it out for another corner... which we clear..

Sako's scored for Mali,1-0 vs the Ivory Coast early on.

Ball pinging in & out of the Charlton box till VLP is shoved in the back & Fk in a decent position
