Team v Charlton

Great bit of play from Henry there but the keeper makes a good save.
Charlton nearly score there but the ball wasn't completely over the line but it sounded like a sneaky attack.

Now VLP is beetling down the touchline but his cross is blocked and Charlton break, but Danny Batth heads that back into the centre circle and it's all a bit like that really.
Back and forwards kind of stuff.

WH the nearly out ball was on the side line not goal line - the commentary is confusing you by talking about how McCarey would feel if that was on the goal line & given

Oh That explains it!
Thanks Peter.
Thought it was odd, (as I quickly came back into the press box!)

Iorfa is racing into into the box and fires it in but it's a poor choice as VLP and Edwards were in better positions...

Game sounds very similar to last week with the away team not making a lot of effort in attack & us finding it difficult to break them down.

First goal will be important - they get it & they will become even more defensive, we get it & the game will open up

30 mins played and the crowd are fairly quiet.
Mad when you can hear voices but you can clearly hear the ref's whistle and the masses are quiet...
Charlton playing with 2 banks of 4 which Wolves are struggling to get through.
We need to be a bit inventive to release the pace of Afobe...
Edwards and VLP get an attack going but Afobe is just offside..

13 mins to go as Stears looking a little thin and lanky looks up and plays a simple ball up to KMac and with 4 players there VLP fizzes a ball into the area and now Henry has it after playing a lovely 1-2 with VLP can't wrap his foot around the ball as his shot goes harmlessly wide.

Seems like Wolves are switching to 4-4-2....

Hause feeds Henry - 40yrd crossfield pass finds VLP who takes it well, past the FB with ease.

Cross whipped if but defender just gets in ahead of Hause on the back post.

Inferring that VLP gone upfront with Afobe & Edwards out to the left in more of a 4 4 2

34: Looks like Wolves have switched to more of a 4-4-2 with Van La Parra up front, Henry wide right and Edwards narrow wide left.

For me Dicko and Golbourne / Jacobs to come on. Henry and Price off. Exactly the same as last week, this midfield cannot break down a team playing 2 deep banks of 4 playing this formation

Danny Batth just sticks a toe out to nick the ball which turned out to be vital. If he hadn't got that right, that wouldve been a pen but it was a great little nick.
Wolves attacking now as VLP gallops into their half and oh... he's fouled! He got fouled twice there but the ref played advantage.
Free kick came in and... don't know who Hause maybe, in a crowd headed that just wide.

Charlton put a ball across the 6 yrd box , curling in & goes only a yrd past Ikeme's RH post - any touch on that and !!!!

Charlton launch that attack and a brilliant curving ball diagonally into our box, one of those that tease the keeper into coming out for but Ikeme didn't as the ball kept curving in and absolutely no one could get a touch on that and it goes out. Dead ball.
If any one of Charlton's players had touched that we'd be 1 down. Great ball.
Wake up lads!

If we stick with 4-4-2, it seems likley that Edwards or Henry will come off for Dicko to come on.
Stearman puts his cynical hat on there with a poor tackle and now he's on a yellow.
He's gonna have to be careful.

Stearman gets a yellow for a proff foul in blocking off the Charlton player after Price & he get themselves in a mix up as to who was going to take the loose ball

Afobe put in by McDonald with a threaded pass - keeper alert & out quickly & manages to smother before Benik can get onto it
