The Cheltenham Festival, Champion Tipster Competition

The money would say Blood Cotil with Grumeti in the frame. Too many (me included) have weighed into the McCoy factor early doors, but he'd be backed off the boards now if he was going to win

5-15

1st; Next Sensation, 16/1
2nd; Eastlake, 12/1
3rd; Croco Bay 14/1
4th; Ned Buntline, 4/1

The money says nothing then! Flat on the day for me then.

I like a bet, but I'm not a big gambler if that makes sense? In the real world only £30 up from 4 bets driven by Dodging Bullets

Many thanks to Darlo, for running fun comp with usual efficiency.

With real cash, had nightmare last 2 days which are usually my 2 best days. Been unlucky overall though (I know, most people say that), eg if Any Currency had won cross-country I would have won 4-figure sum. Also had forecast with 3rd to compound my misery. All in all a great Festival, however for me if Mullins gets any more dominant, it will start to get boring. Would feel the same if he were English, like to see small guys like the Bradstocks get their day in the sun.

Cheers Darlo for running the competition as always. A free bet thanks to Ladbrokes on Coneygree regained some losses for me and turned a pretty terrible festival into just a bad one. Douvan, Vautour and Coneygree my only winning bets all week, that's the least i've had at the festival since i turned 18. I think it will make me more determined to find time to study form as i used as it has really told that i haven't been able to do any.

Cheers Darlo,it's been a bit of a disaster for me,albeit an enjoyable disaster. Thanks for all your time and effort.

I was so sure I was going to end in profit, but I think I have come up just short. Brilliant stuff Mike as always.

Just seen the Gold Cup, what a performance from Coneygree. You have to love a horse who goes from the front and does it all himself.

Great stuff, Darlo and congratulations Tony.

I've had my best Cheltenham in real terms, hich I'm delighted with as I can only bet with small stakes. The majority of that was from smacking 32red on Peace and Co with 2 free bets though so still work to be done for next year.

Gutted it's all over already. Can not wait for next year. I think we've got a new Kauto in Vautour and Denman would have been proud of Coneygree today.

We've seen the end of one legend in Sprinter Sacre but the emergence of an incredible crop. Bring it on!

Great competition Darlo.

I still have no idea what I'm doing by the way....

I watched Coneygree and was thinking has this horse been sent out to be a front-running pace setter. However the beast just kept going. Incredibly impressive.

I hate that i have to work at any point during this week, it's only really hit me that i got to see AP ride at his last festival and next year he won't be there. It's going to be very strange.

Congratulations to Tony. And of course many thanks to Darlo for all his efforts this week.

I am still scratching my head as to how I finished third. This is much easier than the football prediction league....!!!

Cheers Darlo well run as ever and a fun competition, well done to Tony T.

Was an excellenat meeting and has set up next year already with the quality of chasers emerging.
