The Football Coaching Thread

I raised something similar a few weeks ago on the general football thread I think it was. All owners (either current or prospective) of the 72 FL clubs should have to place a £1m bond - this means that if they get bored, or up sticks, or something goes seriously wrong, there's a fund there which means that wages etc can be paid while the situation is sorted out to avoid an Orient situation. The owner gets it back when they sell up so no-one ever loses out unless you breach the terms of the bond in which case, fuck off and whistle.

The upshot of this would be that the Football League would permanently be carrying an extra £72m around. Whatever that generates in interest should be used to offer free coaching courses - through the FL clubs, hosted at their training facilities - for anyone who wants them. It'd more than cover the costs and from there you could offer a gateway to these people who are obviously interested enough to want to give it a go. Who knows, clubs might see someone on one of these courses who they immediately think would be an asset and snap them up. What is currently charged in this country, for what is ultimately trying to learn and help young kids out, seriously puts people off and our number of qualified coaches compared to Germany in particular is absolutely lousy.

When I visited Ajax in September, they said they had partnerships with over 40 clubs around them. They provided educational workshops, played friendlies with them, provided coaching and then also used it for their own benefit to find players and coaches. They are an incredible club to be honest though, I was there for two days and I would go again in a heartbeat.

That must have been incredible, interestingly all the stuff I have read about Japan, they completely based their infrastructure on the Dutch, fairly certain it's actually in the FA Bootroom mag where they interview a dutch coach who mentioned they really encouraged all the players who went out there in the 90s for the J-league boom to stay and be coaches to help fast track the national standards and experience level, whilst they looked to plug the gap with home grown players who learnt from them, who will eventually go on to be coaches. They set out a 100 year plan to win the world cup, consider that for a second!

Former Wolves Richard Stearman and Roger Johnson completed their 8th and final day of UEFA B residential course in Wales today. Other names on the course you would know Jason Puncheon and Juan Pablo Ángel.

Interesting about Angel doing it, just had a scan to see if he was coaching anywhere but can't find anything about where he is or lives now.

Is there an incentive for players like Puncheon to take it whilst still playing?

With the new UEFA B licenses being started up this season I have applied for couple now in and around Hampshire so really hoping I can get on one! Time for the next step!

Aye, good luck!

Just been accepted onto one of the new UEFA B courses, starting in November! Can't wait!

Thanks guys

I had better get friendly with Craig Levein then...

Well done YW, let’s hope we see you at wolves one day.

I think we're a dominant central midfielder away from that formation and if you were to go with the current squad (all fit) it would be: Ruddy; Marshall, Miranda, Boly, Douglas; Neves; Saiss, ?; Costa, Leo, Jota.

That Pogba/ Vidal type player is the one we would be missing. I think our current system of 3-4-3 suits our players better right now.

I thought Andreas Pereira on loan from Man Utd would fit the void, but it seems Valencia is his loan choice.
