The Football News Thread 2024/25

The news agents are reporting that Lineker would have been sacked last Friday if he hadn’t agreed to resign and that the director general would have been sacked if it didn’t happen.

The double standards are astonishing.

For all his talking about having a system and the players having to get used to it it makes no sense if he doesn’t want those players in his team next season. Good players will adapt if they have what he wants in a pre season.
I’m appalled to be praising him but
@Del Woppio wrote a good piece on here about Solbakken and how he should adapt in the short term to get over his players being incapable to suit his system. The same should apply to Amorim and United losing so many games is all on him.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas going down for a long time for trying be the Tony Montana of Greenock

Manchester United sacking another 200 staff this morning to save money, scouting, commercial departments expected to be hit worst

Not you too?
I Obviously don't think Red Nev is a decent commentator ;) or more likely I was vaguely distracted watching Gladiator II (which was meh) and my phone didn't refresh the page when I clicked back into the forum so didn't see updated threads.

For all the mouth Forest have given all season they’ve basically just had the season we had in 2018/19. But I will say the super 6 were just that when we did it not in complete flux.
As for their cup run
Luton (h)
Exeter (a)
Ipswich (h)
Brighton (a)
City sf
Rounds 4,5 & 6 were Penalty shoot out wins.

Our run
Liverpool (h)
Shrewsbury (a)
Bristol city (a)
Man Utd (h)
Watford (SF)

Great season, do it again next season whilst balancing European football then fair play.
As for Villa Covid, Hawkeye failure, Arsenal and John Moss all did what they could to ensure Villa got a PL reprieve in 2020.
Covid gave them a reset, Hawkeye need I say more, John Moss comical VAR decision to disallow a Palace goal against them and Arsenal played in beach mode v Villa then disposed of Watford with ease 4 days later.

My line manager is a Villa fan. He wasn't a fan of me telling him we wanted VAR abolished and tabled the motion and they all rejected it.

We'll park that the motion was tabled because Jeff Shi is a disingenuous cunt.
