The R.I.P. Thread

Found out today that Patrick Walden, the guitarist from Babyshambles died back on the 20th of this month - aged 46. Sad news.

As you know I'm over here in Ireland and I listen to 3 main news channels and this tragic ghastly story is all over them all.
One of them had an Irish Sports presenter on holiday in Portugal, and he said, he was shopping in a supermarket early this morning and it was fairly busy and it came up on the tv screens in the store and everyone stopped and a hush descended over the place. There's a national sense of loss and statements are coming out from the Portugese National team and there's coming out from Liverpool shortly and it's just shocking.
Seems there was some sort of a collision, the car left the road and burst into flames....
One guy from Liverpool said he only got married last weekend?
Awful, awful stuff.

Here's a statement from the Guardia Civil: "A road accident occurred at 12.30am this morning at kilometre 65 of the A-52 motorway, in the municipality of Cernadilla, Zamora.

"A vehicle left the road and everything indicates a tyre burst while overtaking. As a result of the accident, the car caught fire and both people were killed.

Tributes pouring in all over the place.
One guy in RTE said he was a remarkable player especially in the midst of the life and times of Ronaldo. Diogo's shirt was the 2nd biggest seller in the country after Ronaldo's, such a warm person off the field in his community. "It's hard to walk 100 yards in this country (Portugal) without seeing Jota's name on something".

awful awful news. so much to live for. heartbreaking
