No issue with a relegation release clause, but surely that wasn’t what made wolves think ‘he doesn’t really want to come’ seems to have dragged on a lot if that was the initial thought process

Depends what the clause was though. A very low fixed fee for example that loses us money.

What we class as low i dont know though. Shi maths are odd at the best if times.

If a club whose clear aim is to finish just above the drop wanted to sign me, then I'd definitely be asking for a relegation clause.

Any player who Wolves were looking to sign would be mad to not at least think about a relegation release clause. It doesn't take a lot of research to find out that we have been, and continue to be, a club that is perilously close to the drop. And the circumstances that push us down the hole are not all that implausible.

Release clause though stops us digging our heels in to an extent and demanding X or Y. A certain Mr Cunha springs to mind
