The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Saw an interview with him after last night - think it was Wolves TV .

All his comments were those of a player who is staying - talking about next Saturday etc , keep on improving , great crowd etc etc .

Looks like those comments mean absolutely nothing .

For me he is going to win anyway . If he stays we give him a better deal , probably matching what Newcastle would give him . He'll be playing at a club that he is familiar with and who are clear on his ability - versus Newcastle , where expectation would be massive from the word go .
Even if we go down he will easily get another PL club , and can put in a release clause anyway .
Yeah I watched that. He seems like a proper sound guy. I do believe that he’s not pushing for it, but can completely understand the attraction. It’s not JSL I have doubts in. I don’t believe the “he’s not for sale” line. Every player has his price and as has been said multiple times, if Newcastle get anywhere near £60m I suspect he’ll go.

I’ll wait until the money is in the bank before commenting on his time at the club. Safe to say it’s unlikely to be complimentary.

I don't give a fuck about what fee Wolves can rinse Newcastle for... if JSL goes then we're royally fucked and falling through the trapdoor with ease.
Absolutely, we still haven't replaced Neto, let alone RAN or Cunha, selling JSL is suicide.

Depends how much money I had to start with. If I was already incredibly wealthy, it wouldn't really matter to me. By your logic, they'd all be in Saudi Arabia.
Not really. He can double his wages while still living in a society which doesn't hang people. I'm assuming he's ambitious and wants to do well for himself and his family in a short career, you'd question why he wouldn't want to leave.

With all the loan fees - Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers and Las Palmas (is that all of them?) Plus this decent fee, I reckon we must have pretty much broken even assuming we got 1-2million in loan fees per loan?

Not sure what difference it makes to us as fans though, the club still pleads poverty when it suits

He's been on ridiculous money that none of those clubs will have come near to covering.

I presume you'll be nodding that all is when in the world on the day when the Sky Six eventually fuck off to some Super League with all the 'ambitious players who want to do well for their families', leaving the likes of our club with the playing dregs and battling it out for the 'league title' with Preston and QPR then?

I don't know what you expect - football is a business and has been for many years.

I don't have to endorse and be numb to every case that leaves a bad taste in my mouth though, whether it makes a difference or not
