The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I'm happy the stance is Not for sale though, we can't afford to let him go and I hope he gets over it quickly.

So, homegrown target....Brownhill it is then..

Just read through that.

'In the final days of the transfer window, Wolves are still aiming to sign a forward and a central midfielder, and the make-up of their squad means at least one of those players would need to be ‘homegrown’ under the Premier League’s definition.'

He's such an idiot. Why wouldn't you at least check before you published that?

The JSL situation and the wider conversation on players looking to move on barely before the ink has dried on their contracts is symptomatic of the path Fosun/Jeff have decided to take the club down.

There's nothing for the players (or managers for that matter) to buy into as it stands, all down to how the club have actively portrayed themselves.

Just a concerted effort of self sabotage and their chickens are slowly but surely coming home to roost...

The good players are only here to put themselves in the shop window and as soon as a bigger or better club come along, they want out.

The ones that are happy to be here aren’t good enough.

Heaven forbid we have good players who want to be here and actually achieve stuff with Wolves, but as you say, it all stems from the top.

The Nuno era feels a lifetime ago.

Unless we have another more proven forward lined up than the chap from Genk I’m afraid JSL is going to have to see out at least 6 months of the contract he signed in July. Play well and we might still sell in January or next summer when we can get a proper replacement in, down tools and he’ll be seeing out a lot more than 6 months of said contract. It’s up to him how this works out in the longer term as if we sell without a suitable replacement we’re fucked.

I think we will sign Tolu and then a forward who can play left and through the middle. Then sell JSL

Jeff gets a lot of well deserved hate but if he caves and waves the JSL sale through after clearly letting journos know his stance then he is in for a whole new world of hate.

Torn if I want JSL to stay now..

Then sell JSL
Said this yesterday and got abused. Got to love TWF ;)

Percy's article about this being a "critical moment between Fosun and the fans" says to me that they might actually stick to their word and not sell him. Not because they don't want to, but because there's been no preparation or work in the background in terms of a potential replacement should something like this happen. Which IMO could be a possibility in football at any time, so it's another failing on their part.

Do you ever see the good in people’s actions?

He's allowed to ask to join Newcastle, if anything I'd say he'd be stupid for not doing so. What he's not allowed to do is down tools to force it, but there seems no indication he is going to do that.

He actually has the most reason to down tools as well, whereas Ratheus x2 had zero reason to do so.
