The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I don't see how someone who scored 9 goals in a relegated side in the PL can be classed as legs gone. If he'd scored that pen against us he'd have scored as many as Evanilson, Welbeck, Joao Pedro and Gakpo.

We could really do with someone who can come on late in games and run in behind. Would have been cheap, local, knows the league, no bedding in, experienced and galvanising. Would have been a perfect short-term signing IMO.

He scored 3 goals between December and May. Two of them against already relegated Ipswich and Southampton in dead rubbers in May.

I love Jamie Vardy contrary to most it feels, love his story but he's done. Signing him would be on par with signing Diego Costa. He knew the league, was galvanising, cheap and he couldn't do it anymore (despite his best efforts) either.

Leicester only scored 10 goals between December and May. They were quite bad.

Did Costa not come in and contribute towards our survival? Also, Costa had been out of contract for a while and clearly wasn't fully fit. Vardy has 3 goal involvements in his last 3 PL games, which were 3 months ago.

Yep but that doesn’t make neither complete WB, Gomes certainly wouldn’t be a good enough to do his defensive duties for starters.
Not sure any of them are good enough defensively to be honest. May as well play to their attacking strengths.

Vardy isn’t a great option, admittedly.

But I know who I’d rather have seen up front yesterday out of him, Hwang and Munetsi.

Let's hope being rock bottom and the only pointless team focuses recruitment team minds for the next 24 hours or so

I admire your optimism. Not sure it works like that though. We're where we belong. Funny how when we play Man City it's a free hit which we can't win. I wonder if Brighton think that way. No, they're just a better owned, better organised club from top to bottom.

What we saying then?

Arokodare (ST)
Brownhill (CM)

The finished?

Vardy is cooked, my boy. No disrespect to him, his body just can’t do it anymore.

We need to do something so everyone can shut the Hell up about Hwang and Marshall.

So if we do keep JSL and play two strikers then Hwang is gonna get plenty of playing time this season when one of them needs a breather
