The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

We started the summer with Matt Hobbs "transfer targets" and apart from Brownhill, that seems to have been binned. We then had this hybrid Teti/Mendes transfer leadership but this hasn't led to us signing a bunch of first choice targets.

If it was Vitor's intention to change the system, there is really no excuse to be in this position so late having to scramble around for what's left in the market.

Meanwhile, we are setting ourselves up for another relegation battle and likely another spending spree in January.

Well hopefully we're going 2 up top with the new guy and Larsen, with Lopez or Arias as 10. Lopez deserves that shot at the moment. He's very comfortable dropping into a 3 as well by the looks of it. Just think that front 2 causes lots of problems.
 
If we're playing two up top then we also need to sign a third striker option too tomorrow if Sasa can't play more than 15 mins, and that's presuming Larsen is even here in 48 hrs

This is so reliant on the WB being of some real quality though. Not sure we’ve got that though.
Would hopefully mean it puts JRB and Munetsi to squad player status
 
I spotted Jackson making a fair few decent runs yesterday - but he needs the ball playing in front of him so he can run onto it (remember we all wanted Adama to do this except he kept standing still and wanting it to feet?). Now we have a player who wants it played in behind so he can run on to it, but in Andre and Joao Gomes, we have two players who are most comfortable knocking it neat and tidy in to feet.

That’s why it’s imperative we get a more creative midfielder in. Absolute farce that we’ve arrived in the last two days of the transfer window to get one over the line.

How could they have predicted Cunha would want to leave after signing that new contract with the low release clause!
 
I am still feeling very positive. In my view with this kind of rebuild we are not going to be world beaters overnight. City and Everton both played particularly well to beat us. A couple of new guys will be available soon and I am hoping for at least one more. Think it's going to be a very slow recovery and take time but it's too early to diss new players after one or two games. A bit of calm and quiet confidence going on here sorry if that does not suit some posters narrative.

"Feeling positive" can only be based purely on hope as all the empirical evidence points to us being woefully short on quality and undercooked, defending like 10 year old school kids, and short on creativity.

In short... we look nailed on relegation fodder.

Ok Mr Very Positive, tell us your narrative?

- What are we rebuilding into?

- What couple of new guys? Tolu? And who else?

- The 'at least one more' you're hoping for...where will they play?

- Define 'very slow' recovery...how long do you think we have before we're mired in a battle at the bottom with all the confidence draining that brings?

- Any player can be 'dissed' or praised after one or two games, that's not the same as writing someone off and is a completely normal part of any ongoing player appraisal...same as Fer Lopez will have raised positive comments, the others will have raised more critical ones

- What or who is your confidence placed in?

It's not the new players were dissing here. Toti, Hwang, Agbadou are having shitters. Hope we can bloody get new players in to give them a kick up the arse. Mosquera surely is fit enough by now, how much longer can we keep cotton wool around them, that goes for Sasa as well. If there going to break they break, can't presume the first start they make they will break. They are both better in there positions then Toti and at the moment Agbadou and Hwang with Sasa.
