Pretty simple, of all the things Trump has done since his inauguration stopping people who have been through puberty as a male from competing in women’s sport is one of the few things most people from both sides of the political spectrum agree on.

Can only speak as I find. I don’t know one person who thinks people who’ve been through puberty as a male should be allowed to compete with women in sport. I actually think the insistence of such people that they should be treated exactly the same as women who are female at birth does the trans movement a lot of damage and gives bigots something to hang their anti-trans views on.

It’s a very difficult one for me. On the one hand, it probably wouldn’t be fair to have them forced to continue in a male sport. Equally, it does increase the probability of a physical advantage (obviously though it would be ridiculous to assert that anyone who went through “male puberty”, for lack of a better term, is automatically physically superior). And even further, it would probably be exceedingly difficult to create a third (and possibly more) sport division strictly for those who fall outside the, er, “traditional” gender binary.

Not trans nor a woman, though, so ultimately not equipped to make that call. Trump certainly has no business doing so, either.

I think I've mentioned before that I don't like how conflicted (potentially it's even as far as hypocritical)I am on the subject. I believe (and to be fair, I try hard to make sure that remains the case) trans women are women, and any support we can offer to help, we should. But it just doesn't wash with competitive sport, unfortunately. You could have the most progressive society imaginable but the damage to sporting integrity is a circle that I just can't get squared no matter how I shake it up.

Obviously the fact that it's talked about as if you've got 25 year old blokes just putting a dress on and kicking arse left right and centre, which is complete bullshit and really damaging.
