Wolves 2- 3 Burnley verdict thread

Dissecting why we lost the game today = the players weren't very good and Vitor got his subs badly wrong.

Dissecting why we're a dreadful team = Jeff Shi, his lack of strategy or a focus on long term goals has caused multiple poor transfers windows, retaining poor coaches too long and disenfranchising the fans.
Totally agree. Some common sense.

Most of our players produced exactly what you expect of them today which is basically uninspiring littered with unforced errors. I’ve defended Bellegarde as he did at least try to make things happen and overall was better than I expect. Is he the answer to are problems, of course not but as it’s the verdict thread I’m basing my assessment on today not the multiple times he’s been anything from poor to dreadful.

Beaver has come for a rumble today it seems.. ✍️
To be honest with you I just do not understand the total negativity on display. I want the current owners gone. It is total rubbish. I do not understand football any more. When I suggested some time ago that Cunha must stay I was told he had to move on - I had to get real. Well that worked out well. We should have at least got £80M for him. Amorim has been clueless but now great because he has Cunha & Mbeumo. It is not exactly rocket science.

who was better?
Apart from the Burnley players? Nobody, hence why I say that he was our best player today.

Bellegarde will do that to you occasionally: be half decent and make you think you might have something there. But then he's largely anonymous for the next few games and you remember why you're not bothered when he's on the bench. He's the perfect symbol of what this Wolves squad has become - perm any 11 players from a shallow squad and hope for the best.

So what do we do? When I said we should not sell Cunha nobody agreed. Apparently we had to sell him. Maybe we should be a Championship team now as we can not be aspirational? I was at games back in the1960s/1970s when everything was up for grabs. I saw us win a trophy at Wembley. I took my boys to Cardiff in 2003 - it was great! Money now rules.

Erm... is this a serious point you're trying to get across?

Can you give me 3 positives?

I'll even give you one of them - Sudu make fantastic sportswear. #teamsudu #sudumakesmefast

Please give me 2 more, because I'm really struggling beyond that.

We're a shop window. The club knows it, the players know it, the agents know it, and we - the fans - know it if we're honest about it.

You play well for a year or two and you get your move to a "big" club or a Saudi club. Wolves get some money to fund the next round of hopefuls in this Fosun sell-to-buy era. You don't come here to win things (thanks, Jeff).

We're now witnessing what happens when you get the recruitment badly wrong.

We need to aim our abuse at the owners. Is it really that difficult to understand? Bellegarde was not brilliant today but he played well. Apparently I said he was brilliant? Your sarcasm is offensive. I have had endless abuse just for stating that the players tried hard today. Some were hapless -Hoever & GK in particular. I am as unhappy as the rest of you.

Funny how Bournemouth & Brighton cope.

They've finally painted some of the roof supports on the Steve Bull stand

Well let's take my verdict for an example, where I went through player by player.

Other than Hoever's "effort" on the second (where he didn't try, he gave up) then that wasn't the question, they either played below standard or they aren't good enough. I didn't accuse them of not trying.

In fact I don't think anyone has, in the entire last four hours.

So I'll ask again what it is you're doing here because it makes no sense to me.
I think you need to look at the posts such as ‘absolute shite’. You all piled on to me when I said we should not sell our best players (some time ago). It is one thing or another. We either aim high or accept mediocrity.

Trying their best is the minimum expectation. I'd try my fucking best. It's the premier league not under mines.

And frankly many of them aren't. SJ has pulled more sickies than me when I was 21. Hoever was miles away from his man on two goals. JSL is sulking. Bellegarde was shit until he pissed out of a challenge and the crowd got off his back.

And "trying their best" isn't just about a match day. They're clearly not improving individually, and many of them aren't anywhere near fit or mobile enough. Arias hasn't put in a decent corner in about 6 weeks, is he practicing them after training? Is he fuck. Has Hoever worked on his positioning or looking over his shoulder? Has he fuck. Has Santi worked on how to defend in the premier league and not getting touch tight all the time? Has he fuck. I could go on and fucking on. Individuals are REGRESSING. We've got two Brazilian internationals who haven't looked much better than Karl fucking Hendry this season.

Get in the chuffing bin
I fucking agree with you. So eloquent.

No mystery. They're just better organised, better ran, better owned teams.

The football hierarchy means that selling your best players is a fact of life for the vast majority of teams. It's how you deal with it that's important. For Fosun, who no longer want to invest, it's critical to our survival.

You make my point. Why do you assume I am thick? Read between the lines.
