Morgan Gibbs-White

Did he not play in his favoured position last night?
I couldn't really tell where he was supposed to be playing. He kept drifting wide (not surprising) - but there were a couple of occasions where he picked the ball in more centrally and he looked alright. There was one situation in the second half, though, where he had the ball in the middle and Semedo overlapping down the right in loads of space, his first touch was poor and then his pass to Nelson was behind him to the point where he had to stop to control it, before turning - and at this point - the defence had got in to shape again. Just lazy play.

I cant make my mind up. He plays centrally and looks ok to good at times then gives the ball away with a sloppy lazy pass or poor touch. Something tells me he may not make the grade here long term. I think he is at best a squad member at his peak judging by performance's this season. Vitinha may fade from games but seems to have a better touch and a better footballing brain. I am looking forward to a front 3 of Traore , Raul, Neto backed by Vitinha and Neves with A.N. Other in a creative midfield role and a solid back four. That would give us more opportunity to score I believe.

Definitely didn't, we didn't have any actual striker in front of him with Fabio and Adama being split so at times he was the most advanced central player. I'm still not sure he will ever reach the levels the club thought he would but without a doubt he's not been given a chance to do so in a position that suits him and in a team that is built to play with a player in that position.
