That left hand side that collapsed against Leeds are paying the price it feels..

Or just play RAN on the left instead?

Jonny has been outstanding on the right so far, why move him?

Not aimed at you BMB, more a general point.

I mean, Marcal has been playing so I presumed Ait was injured!?

Moving Jonny over to the left would be absolutely mental, he looks so much more dangerous on the right. Ran for Marcal is clearly the right thing to do, and I think he'll do it.

I'd also go Neto for Trincao. He's our best available player, and needs to start

He looks more dangerous because he's the wing back given licence to go forwards and get into the box, it's nothing to do with the side he's playing, just that he has a different brief than when playing with Doherty

If you disagree Mark try to articulate it in something a little more communicative than emojis

But he looks more dangerous than Semedo?

Playing on the right allows him to cut inside whilst also offering some form of threat on the outside. He can cut in and drive inside or he can fake to take it down the line to open up space whilst then still crossing/cutting back inside the full back on his strong foot without needing to actually beat him on the outside. Whereas on the left all he’s ever going to do is a stand up cross on his left or an awful floated ball into the keepers hands on his Right. Much easier to defend against. Sadly he doesn’t have the cut inside put it top corner in his locker (or has never shown it).

I don't think that's up for debate, but if you look at the goals he's scored previously from the left they aren't dissimilar to the ones he's scored in the last couple of weeks, he just didn't get into the box as much. As said earlier the debate isn't whether Jonny is a better RWB than Semedo, its whether Semedo on the right and Jonny on the left are better than Jonny and RAN/Marcal for me they are, but accept there's recency bias on my behalf re RAN's collapse against Leeds

I’d play Semedo on the left if it was Jonny and Semedo who were the two playing. If he’s just going to spanner it into someone’s shin on the outside or pass back to the CM, then may as well do that on the left. Him cutting inside at speed might cause some chaos too. And if he’s cutting back he might feel more comfortable thin whipping it in or picking someone out on his right than when he does that on the right he doesn’t trust his left and plays the safer/easier option.

Playing him on the left might be a bit narrow but we don’t routinely cross from the byline anyway and he’s still got the pace to threaten round the outside if the FB offers it.

Don't think this is true at all and has been evident in the last few games where Jonny has assisted for RAN against Watford and Marçal crossed for Trincao. Both ended in OG's.

Nuno asked one WB to sit but Bruno is asking them both to be wingers. There was one point on Saturday where they were both our furthest forward players.

On a stag do in manc so unlikely I’ll get to watch the game, unless we accidentally venture to a sports bar… will have to get my updates from you fine folk.

Stag has rona. All fallen through. Pub for the game it is. Let’s not make my Friday worse
