Pre-season friendly thread

Everyone can chill out. Spiers has confirmed Neves is out in Marbs with the squad and "should" be training today.

Hmm, think you might be in for a long, hard season, our best midfielder is possibly off and I doubt his replacement will be an immediate upgrade.
I fear your Right, i am hoping Neves is not going to leave, but you never know.

We need to Strengthen the midfield, the friendlies mean feck all IIRC we lost to Shrewsbury in Nuno's pre season.

If we dont strengthen I fear for next season, with thet midfield I doubt Nuno would have done much.

I'm going to the Coventry game, 13 quid, fairly local, should be nice weather, closest i'll have got to an away game since Wembley, not too bothered about our team, should just be a decent day out.

Last time i went there Jackie McNamara was playing for us.

I'm surprised to see Estrada go into midfield, he's always been a CB in the u23s and doesn't really play like a midfielder IMO.

Jack Scott has looked decent every time I've seen him play, unlucky to miss out IMO but we probably have enough DFs

I agree with the consensus around MF, we look a bit light there

I'm not sure why everyone (as in on Twitter, not here) is pant wetting over a TalkSport story anyway.

United have Pogba, Fernandes, McTominay, Fred... van de Beek can't even get a sniff. Neves would not get regular game time there which is what he needs at this stage of his career.

Personally I reckon he walks straight in to their starting 11.

I do think Neves is rather overrated by Wolves fans - he is very good but he’s certainly not the top notch player some would have you believe - also his shooting and free kicks are awful of late.

Maybe there are one or two Wolves fans who overrate Neves, but the majority of fans are aware of his high quality esp. tackles and interceptions, and his superb positional sense. Most of his passing finds its intended target, and although his shooting has been poor recently, we all know what he's capable of.

Saw that, I guess we will see if Spiers is right when we see pictures from today's training.

So the ticket info has gone up for the Celta Vigo home game.

As for removing your mask once in your seat, it doesn’t look like it, though I doubt everyone will comply and they won't be able to stop it.

  • Wear a face covering on entry to, exit from and in all areas inside the stadium, including seats. Face coverings may be removed temporarily while eating/drinking. This is especially important in enclosed areas such as concourses and toilets.
