Just back from a few days in Lisbon – great city to visit if you want a short break – and obviously started a conversation with every waiter/barman/taxi driver about football. Split about 60/40 between Benfica and Sporting fans & all hugely complimentary about Wolves. They all followed the results.
Generally they were pretty enthusiastic about Podence & think he’ll do well for us, but the player they all wanted to talk about was Neto – or Nyeto as some of them pronounced it. Benfica or Sporting, they shared a feeling that he could be a really special player (as we’re seeing) and most of them wanted him including in the squad for the Euros this summer.
The Sporting fans were very down on their own team – especially after selling Fernandes – so they might be a good draw in the last 16
