Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

Sovereignty mean fuck all if nothing changes. That's what it boils down to. All the fucking rules are the same, but life is now more difficult and expensive for businesses to import, export and to recruit.

And the headline problem Brexit talked about solving wasn't sovereignty, it was immigration - pretending otherwise is just childish. Obviously, you do so because the immigration lies/failures are more easily and quantifiably dealt with than your wishy washy bullshit. But you're fooling nobody. You can't admit that you were wrong, that you were lied to and conned. You can't admit your mistake so you have to find something -anything - to cling to and tell yourself it was all worth it, or that the problems are somebody else's fault and nothing to do with you

You lied about what Brexit would do the economy. The doomsday never happened. I have no problem with legal immigration, if immigrants are treated fairly and get the same wages and working conditions as UK citizens. The problem is, that doesn't happen and exploitation is rife in the UK.
That we are doing better than EU's strongest economy, Germany, shows that that Covid and the Ukraine war is more responsible for economic decline in the Western world. The doomsday scenario never happened.

The impact of the Ukraine war has hit Germany hardest because of the size of their manufacturing industry and their reliance on Russian oil. To use the only country in the G7 performing worse than the UK as evidence that Brexit hasn't been that damaging when they have their own specific local issues is either stupid or disingenuous. I'll give you credit and go with the latter

Brexit - it won't be as bad as a pandemic and a war

That should have been their strapline rather than giving money to the nhs

Show me a remain campaigner who predicted Doomsday or an economic collapse? Farage often suggested that it was said, but Farage imagines lots of things, and morons believe him.

It was predicted to be bad for the economy, and it has been bad for the economy. That's a fact acknowledged by pretty much every economist*.

*we've had enough experts though, yeah?

Cameron and Osborne's campaigning did focus on the apocalyptic rather than the benefits of membership. It was a mistake and imo lead to more people seeing it as an anti Tory rather than anti EU vote, not helped by Corbyn being mute.

The doomsday never happened, admit it. I don't want to put up endless scare stories from before 2016. The red bus was bullshit and so was the doomsday, true?

Erm, that's somebody saying that Remainers said it, not a Remainer actually saying it. Literally proving the point I made in the first sentence - "Project Fear" was an invention, you bought it, well done.

The £27bn figure I used yesterday is one of the more conservative estimates. As you mention the bus, the promise from that was £18bn per year so that seems like a large figure to me. If you are a fisherman who has lost his livelihood or a small business who has gone bust because of the red tape and increased logistical costs then to them, yes it is doomsday, for what ultimately is just for you to feel better.

And anyway there has been economic melt down, job losses and high streets have been decimated?

Define armaggedon? Because no one actually thought there would be literal armaggedon?

If i go off the usual high streets it's been a Brexit bonanza for barbers and nail bars.

Everything else not so much.

iirc Osborne's guestimate was a c. £4k hit to households, which was prob the estimate of loss divided by no. of UK households. so not doomsday except to the extent that any loss was never likely to be evenly distributed in that way.

So shops closing has nothing to do with Brexit.
Blaming Brexit for town centres becoming decimated, when the same thing is happening all over Europe, bmis lying knowingly, not knowing anything what is happening in other EU countries, or more likely in this case both.

Very anti Brexit.
Predicted fastest growing economy in Europe in 2025. You think you would be happy the UK was going to do better than other European countries, or are you still wanting the UK to do worst, so you can say it was Brexits fault?
