To be fair to TAA other than his absolute horror show v Real Madrid he's stepped up since he was dropped by Southgate, if Southgate now picks him it can be considered good management, he gave him a kick up the arse, TAA sorted himself out and then returns to the squad.

The thing is he is clearly the best English right back (even with the depth of quality we have), so not sure why Southgate has messed around with this in the first place. I don't expect him to make the squad now though as he clearly trusts Trippier - who tbf has just won La Liga and James has bee in the last few squads.

I think when he is on form he is, but he hasn't been for Liverpool prior to the last 6 weeks or so, and he certainly hasn't performed particularly well for England either.

That said even an out of form TAA is better than James IMO, i'm not sure about him at all.

I suppose the thing is Southgate likes players who've performed for him and he trusts. I don't think Trent has had any good games for England.
