Everton (H) 23/09 - Carabao Cup R3 Thread

Wilkins (and Stapleton) were two of the best players I've seen in a Wolves shirt. John Richard's first testimonial I think (?). Must have been against Moscow Dynamo as Lev Yashin was wheeled in front of the North Bank in his wheelchair.

I saw Stapleton score a hat trick against us for Blackburn, 1990ish

First JR testimonial was March 1982. I knew he had two but initially could only reference the second initially on the web in 1985. I know he left in between times but I can't remember why he got two testimonial games?

Getting in early as I know where these discussions lead, any Osborn hate will result in bans. Not having it

I saw Tommy Rowe score a dipping volley from about 40 yards in a dominant all round midfield performance that held the promise of great things to come.

It was for Peterborough.

And we can all make mistakes.

I thought the likes of Rowe and Saville were decent for us at the time (relative to the league), just boring as shit because they didn’t excel at anything.

We played a lot of CMs in weird positions after getting out of League One IIRC.

Heads up for those who like drinking warm beer in a car park, the official fan zone is not open tonight. Probably due to a severe shortage of fans.

I'll outbid you with Billy Kellock from 1983. He was heralded as a future star after 'success' at Peterborough and a stint at Luton.
The guy looked amazing in his warm up play with our goalie in front of the North Bank but that was more or less it.
Surprisingly scored three goals in Division 2 and played 13 times in total but was disposed of very quickly to Southend soon after we got promoted back to Division 1.
Then came our slide through the divisions.....

Bellegarde has played right wing back at some point previously hasn't he?
