General Wolves News

At face value it would very much appear that Vitor is exerting his influence on how the playing side is structured and supported.

Vitor is a strong character so won't put up with any shit from Jeff, which has the potential to easily go one of two ways!

But after the patsy duo of Lage and GoN that can only be a good thing... hopefully!

I’m all for giving Vítor more influence and more of a say - and I’m all for getting some of his mates in.

I suppose the obvious concern is what happens if it all goes pear shaped on the pitch? Let’s say we’re bottom at Christmas - what happens then? You sack him and start again?

I guess for now we need to take the positive slant on things, that changes are being made and hopefully it means some serious investment in the first team squad with players that the manager actually wants.

Shi not being fired into the sun is a shame, although he seems to be FINALLY admitting he needs football people in certain roles.

Oh, and Talking Wolves Dave is gonna be fuming he’s now lost his contact within the club!

We have to really. No clue if this will work but do have to accept its Jeff or whoever saying "we got it wrong"... at the moment it looks like an attempt to point this club in the right direction.

The coming months will tell us if it was right but right now it feels more positive, even if only slightly. Would hope for some positive transfer business very soon to kick this change off.

Have to admit I don't really know much about how the management team works in a football club but the vibe I'm getting is positive so far with Vitor getting someone he's worked with before and obviously likes.

Feels a bit like the TD we appointed with Zenga. He didn't last long.
If it was Zenga who suggested that appointment then it is no surprise he didn't last long .

If this appointment has been pushed by Vitor - then at least Vitor has the results behind him to back it up . Managers usually bring their own people anyway , so it's no great surprise that he wants to complete his team .

I get that, but the whole point of a technical or sporting director is to provide continuity and give the club a vision / approach which outlasts short-lived managers.

That all flies out of the window when the short term managers aren't appointed by the Sporting Director and go on to prove themselves to be far more competent than any of the managers the Sporting Director has appointed or suggested (Beale, O'Neil & Eustace FFS).

Completely different subject; seeing a few threads on SM about early predictions for top 4 / bottom 3 PL next season and we're popping up pretty regularly in the latter...I imagine it's other team's fans seeing Cunha going and drawing conclusions from that!
