I agree. Some of the comparisons to our previous managers are unfair, I think he's better than Solbakken (much better example than now of a coach who lost the dressing room) or Terry Connor.
The problems at the club began to emerge in lockdown and 20/21 was no different from last season really, Lage is just not the right man/not good enough to fix it. He wasn't properly backed to be able to fix that in his first season, but then I'd say Nuno was not in his final season either. At the same time, he didn't exactly show he was worth backing did he? The only system we were capable of playing was a more simplistic version of Nuno's tactics for the most part. The end of the season also offered no positives, he didn't try to change the style of play and we played like shit.
I'm in favour of him going but I'm not ardently anti-Lage, I have felt apathetic about his whole time at the club. Right now it feels like we are simply waiting for the club to get rid of the manager and try to bring in a better one like it was under Lambert.
